Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

My warning was clearly too subtle,

This is the Nine Scheduling thread. Not Lukey boy’s world sports almanac.

Any more posts that are off topic will be deleted.

From mediaweek:

Nine will be airing a new branded content program from Seek called Dream Job starting on January 27. The eight-part series is produced by WTFN Productions and showcases real life stories of career change. The show comes on the back of Seek’s 2017 brand campaign, Why Settle?.

4.30pm Saturdays I believe.

Have you ever dreamed of escaping your life and sailing off into the sunset? The new series Living the Dream is all about husband and wife Dan and Maxine doing just that when it premieres Saturday, January 27, at 3.30pm on Channel Nine.

Dan and Maxine are rookie sailors who quit their stressful TV jobs, buy a boat and sail a thousand nautical miles from their home in Sydney to explore the Whitsunday Islands for five months.

The result is a unique piece of film making that is part reality show and part travelogue and showcases a disarmingly honest account of the meltdowns, breakdowns and nerve-wracking close calls they encounter.

Maxine says: “The real challenge of making the series came in editing it after the filming was done. Coming face-to-face with our own frailties was confronting, but Dan and I made a pact that the story was king and the viewers deserved to see us both at our most vulnerable.”

Highlights of their five-part adventure include close encounters with some of Australia’s majestic water mammals, helping out with a turtle rescue, and a visit to Shaggers Rendezvous, known as “schoolies for old people”.

Living the Dream is sure to be an inspiration for lounge lizards everywhere to get up off the couch and follow their dreams.

England are 5/13 so the Cricket could finish very early today.
Nine programmers would be dusting off some old Lethal Weapon tapes right now for tonight’s schedule.

Doubt it, “Fun with Dick and Jane” (2005) would just be brought forward.

Which would rate awful against the Aus Open semi with Federer anyway.

26 Jan 2018 - House of Bond will air at 7:45pm in Perth.

totes devo I will miss it

I think its pretty stupid nine are airing the Travel Guides for 2 episodes on Monday to only remove it for Underbelly in the third week. Stupid programming.

Shouldn’t it be Rugby League World Challenge or World Challenge Rugby League  Nine has scrambled the words.
Scheduling Blue Planet II on Saturday evenings is very clever, giving viewers alternative over live sport on Seven.

Premieres Saturday 17 February at 7.00pm

It has been 16 years since the original series and now the extraordinary sequel to Sir David Attenborough’s Blue Planet is coming to Nine and 9Now in high definition when Blue Planet II premieres on Saturday, February 17, at 7.00pm.

The ocean is tempestuous and serene, exquisitely beautiful yet bleakly forbidding. Although it covers over 70 per cent of the Earth’s surface it is still the least known part of our planet. However, in recent years our knowledge of what exactly goes on beneath the waves has been transformed.

Blue Planet II uses breakthroughs in marine science and revolutionary technology that has modernised the way we explore new worlds under the sea and reveal the very latest discoveries.

This breathtaking series gives viewers a first look at fish that live almost exclusively on land; giant trevally that snatch seabirds out of mid-air; a fish that enlists the help of octopus to hunt smaller fish hiding among coral branches; and other incredible sea life.

As well as being home to some of nature’s most spectacular events and fascinating creatures, the oceans are essential to all life, generating about half of the planet’s oxygen. Throughout Blue Planet II, viewers will explore the health of the oceans, which are under great threat from environmental stresses such as coral bleaching. Never has there been a more important time to understand what is happening in the seas that may hold the key to the future our planet and our rising population.

Blue Planet II has been in production over four years, visiting 39 countries and filming across every continent and ocean. It took more than 6,000 hours of underwater diving and filming to produce, everywhere from our familiar shores to the depths of the deepest seas, bringing us closer than ever before to the captivating world of the oceans and their extraordinary creatures large and small.

Hard to believe :grinning: (as in it’s been such a long time since we’ve seen a new show scheduled on Saturdays!).

Nine’s worst night during ratings survey with no NRL, so maybe they’re targeting that night in 2018?

First Nine decides not to ‘fast track’ the program and therefore missed an opportunity to capitalize on the buzz surrounding the show when it premiered. Then to add insult to injury, they decide to bury it on Saturday nights - what a waste of such a great program…
