Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

Melbourne and Adelaide may get the chance to see the post match presentation on July 12 as the AFL Footy Show airs on its normal Thursday night timeslot.

The Footy Show airing on a 30 minute delay in Perth?

Unless the Post Match Coverage for Games 1 & 2 stream on Social Media, it’s Lilely to be Blackout in Victoria, Tasmania & South Australia.

It could end up being live depending what time Origin actually ends.

You’re kidding, right? Until about 2010, the only place to watch the game live in Melbourne or Adelaide was to find a pub with an illegal satellite feed of Imparja.

Why does only Perth get the show Flog It (3pm)? Isn’t this the type of crap WIN used to pull when they owned STW?

The different 3pm program is probably because Nine News Now airs live in Perth!

Did SOO air live (or at all) in Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth before multi-channels?

I remember seeing SOO on 9Gem a couple of times

State of Origin was shown on delay most of the time in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth before multichannels, at 8.30pm, 9pm or 9.30pm. When the match was played at the MCG for the first time in 1994 the match was shown live in Melbourne. Then when Melbourne Storm entered the national competition and its stars (Slater, Smith and Cronk) became popular through their involvement in Queensland’s SOO success during the 2000s, Nine decided to show it live in Melbourne. It was only in the past 5-7 years that Adelaide and Perth also got live coverage, sometimes out of necessity as it clashed with other sports covered by Nine, e.g. The Ashes in England.

Game 1 usually coincided with the E J Whitten Legends Game being played on the same night so Origin was shown on delay afterwards.

If Game 3 was a dead rubber there was minimal interest so it normally aired on delay at 9.30 or 10.30.

Crown Casino used to air a live feed of TCN-9 in its Sports Bar, and some pubs showed the game via Imparja. These were the only places to watch the game live in Melbourne until around 2007-08 when it began gaining in popularity due to the Storm’s success.

Thanks for that @JohnsonTV and @parano1a.

I’ve also got into it the past few years

Could have sworn though that it aired on 9Gem in Melbourne from like 2011 to 2013? Before starting (or returning) to main channel?

Note:
Obviously there was no 9Gem between 2007 & 2010.

And Chicago Med is again out of the schedule this week and next in Melb / regional Vic. Very hard to keep up.

Yes but I don’t like that program they used to have movies in that time slot then they have been replaced only in Perth

Schedule Update

Sunday 28 May
08:40 PM 60 Minutes
09:40 PM Schapelle (Movie)
11:30 PM House

Yes but they could air Flog It at 1pm or 2pm.

Meanwhile, Dora and Paw Patrol will been shafted once again for more Weekend Today tomorrow morning. Even the 5:30am Wesley Impact isn’t safe this time. No wonder kids are losing interest in FTA.

Yes, every time I bump into a kid the first thing they tell me is how much they are losing interest in free-to-air television.

I don’t think it’ll happen. It’s probably a placeholder.

The Schapelle Corby saga is meant to kick off at 6pm EST. I’m sure it’ll go well into the night.

That’s your best Note in a while.

I believe SOO did air on Gem at some stage - maybe check the tags on TV Tonight?
