Given that the Beauty and the Geek wraps up on august 3, I assume that The Block will start on the 7 August.

Good to see the Saturday Night Footy return on 6 August on Nine. It will run for the last 5 weeks of the NRL Season.

Good to see Beauty and the Geek being a short-run season, and is not a drawn out season like other reality shows. lol.

Some very unfavourable scheduling of Nine News Late recently being pushed to later timeslots. So a change of heart with the following amendments removing one of the True Story With Hamish & Andy episodes to being the news forward. Also the addition of travel Guides NZ very late in the night.

I wonder how this will go against MKR? It will be a tough battle.

Will this be aired on the main channel in Melbourne or on 9Gem?

Family Law

Wednesday 10 August 9:45 PM

10-episode, one-hour drama from Canada follows a group of flawed family members who reluctantly work together at their father’s law firm in downtown Vancouver. Previously available on 9Now.

We’ll find out when the market variations are posted, as above.

If recent revivals are anything to go by, The Block should have an easy time against MKR.

Not since the award-winning Schitt’s Creek finished on ABC TV Plus did we have a Canadian TV show on FTA.

Two points about that:

  1. As we saw last year, The Block tends to start soft ratings-wise but then builds momentum as the season goes on. As such, how it performs in the first few weeks might not be a true indictiation of how the rest of the season will go.
  2. It’s hard to guess how the MKR revival will go. It could replicate how The Voice performed off the back of the Tokyo Olympics last year and pull strong numbers or it could bomb hard and fast. There are a whole range of scenarios that could play out in between as well and none of them occurring would surprise me either.

Nine has bought the rights to a documentary special TMZ Presents Johnny vs. Amber: From Love to Hate.

This is different from the 60 Minutes special Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard: Love and War, hosted by Tom Steinfort, which also aired in June.

According to YourTV online guide, Panthers v Storm will be shown on main channel in Melbourne. Could be wrong though.

Nine always do this. Whenever Storm games air on the main channel it’s a last minute change, not promoted and as a result doesn’t appear in the printed TV guides. And they wonder why it doesn’t rate.
