Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

Looks like a big week of sport on Nine.
Next Sunday will be the State of Origin at Optus Stadium. Good that Perth viewers will enjoy the game on the primary channel in HD. WA viewers had the State of Origin on the primary channel in the past 6 years and they should be great.
But the Wallabies v England match will be played at Optus Stadium. Even though it is slated at 5:30pm (WA Time), it has a 100% chance of shown on 9HD in Perth. What might happen to NIne News and ACA in Perth on 2 July?

I guess this means NRL in SD on 9Go! for VIC/SA/WA?

Who in their right mind would sit through 2 hours of Ninja every night? Not even Ninja superfans would be able to stomach so much padding, fluff, and the OTT focus on all the returnees.

Nine are just so lazy to program anything decent post 8.30 so they just go and ruin their hit shows.

More info on Children’s Hospital that premiered Friday

Enter the world of two remarkable world-class hospitals and follow their dedicated healthcare teams working with sick and injured children when Children’s Hospital premieres Friday, June 17, at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

This new eight-part series shines a light on the amazing front-line workers at Perth Children’s Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital – two of the busiest in the west – as they care for children from all corners of the vast state of Western Australia.

Many of the children arrive through the doors of their emergency departments for urgent, life- saving treatment. Others are flown thousands of kilometres for operations that will change their lives.

The multi-disciplinary specialist teams at both hospitals must deal with every emergency imaginable, from a bead stuck up a nose to a life-threatening brain tumour. Each unpredictable day brings a new set of dramas.

Executive Producer Julia Redwood says the heartwarming and uplifting series will give viewers a glimpse into the tireless work of the two hospitals and the staff of the St John Ambulance service.

“The doctors and nurses are truly inspirational, but so are the kids. They show just how amazing children can be when faced with tough times – not only are they resolute but often incredibly funny,” Redwood said.

The premiere episode follows four cases. Louelle, a young girl, who has fallen through a roof while helping her dad clean the gutters. Six-year-old Harper, whose dizzy spell at school turns out to be caused by a golfball-sized brain tumour. Four-year-old Zavier, who requires emergency treatment after a fall and finds himself at the same hospital as his mother, who is about to give birth. And three-year-old Mia, who has pushed a bead up her nose and is reluctant to have it removed.

Join these kids and their families on their roller coaster journey through the emergency department, and meet the inspirational doctors, nurses and healthcare workers who go above and beyond to treat and care for every one of them.

Children’s Hospital is made by Prospero Productions for the 9Network, with principal production funding from Screenwest and Lotterywest.

3 hours of repeats on Nine tonight. Pretty poor programming to not have at least something new at 7.30pm.

The fact that they keep using Travel Guides repeats to fill their Wednesday blanks is very telling. They air it whenever they don’t have something for Wednesday or when they see fit. Sooner or later that show’s popularity and ratings will dive thanks to Nine treating it with contempt.

The latest schedule has Wallabies v England on 9Gem in Perth next Saturday, while tonight’s State of Origin will air on main channel in Perth. Go figure.

NRL will stay on 9Gem on Thursday and Friday for VIC/SA/WA while Wimbledon airs on 9GO!. When the NRL finishes at around 10.30pm AEST, the tennis moves back to 9Gem.

2hrs and 10 minutes of Ninja? Nine have well and truly jumped the shark with this show.

I think they’re in for a rude shock this year, it’s already very repetitive and the change of hosts won’t help. Viewers were already on the wane and it really shouldn’t be on air for more than two nights a week, lazy programming to roll it out again across the week with no alternative.

This is a win win for Tennis fans. Good for the southern states to see the tennis on the primary channel on Saturday night. (That way we don’t have to put up with movies). But the problem is Perth. Despite the rugby union being played at Optus stadium, they shunt it to GEM in HD.
I personally think that given the rugby match will be played in Perth, it would have been better if they showed it on the primary channel In the west.

They should’ve made this Wimbledon, will do much higher. Must be a promotional push and with SOO still on?

I’m surprised that Wimbledon isn’t on the main channel in as many markets as possible given the results so far this week.

I just don’t get it why the Ninja Warrior finale episode falls on 11 July even though they have another episode on the 12 July? On the 12 July, I assume that BB and MCA finale is on.
