Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

They could have slotted in a Big Bang to push Twister to 8.40

Small note - Nine screened all the episodes of Kevin Can Wait last year except the final 2 for some reason. 9GO has the second last episode this week and then the final ever episode on Thursday 7 March at 11:30pm

First official confirmation of the new after shows’ names?

7 days late sorry Parano

Why would they want to do that? Earlier the better? “Twister” is also PG uncut, so not like they were forced to edit either.

They love me over there at Nine! Bringing in the ratings. 3rd or 4th time I’ve been played in a handful of months

Australian Crime Stories

JOHN FRIEDRICH: THE GREAT IMPOSTER

Thursday 7 March at 8.30pm

In episode three of its new series, Australian Crime Stories tells the true story of John Friedrich , a leader and a hero who built a rescue organisation that inspired a nation. He was also a criminal mastermind who seduced governments and defrauded banks for hundreds of millions of dollars.

For 25 years this incredible story has been swept under the rug, almost forgotten.

On Thursday, March 7, at 8.30pm on Nine and 9Now, Australian Crime Stories shines a light on this deeply flawed visionary who had immense intelligence matched by dishonesty and a talent for self-promotion.

Who was the mysterious John Friedrich? Was he really the German fraudster Johann Hohenberger? And did he die at his own hand, or was he executed to keep his many secrets hidden forever?

On Australian Crime Stories , investigative journalist, researcher and co-writer Adam Shand interrogates the accounts of the police, criminals and witnesses to present compelling stories of good and bad, heroes and villains, revealing the mysterious appetites and hidden hatreds, the seven deadly sins that are at the heart of all true crime.

Australian Crime Stories is produced by The Full Box for the Nine Network.

With Thursday night NRL in NSW, ACT, QLD and NT, Nine will have to find another timeslot to show the remaining episodes of Young Sheldon’s current season in those regions, so they won’t fall behind the rest of the country too much (and also allowing episodes to be uploaded to 9Now). Perhaps Tuesday 9pm after Travel Guides finishes its third season?

The first one wouldn’t have been a mistake if they didn’t do the second one.

It could have been worse for 7…

Not exactly relevant here but you could also argue it can go both ways. If Seven took a risk and launched MKR in the first week of the new year then they might be rewarded like how 10 did it with Celebrity. Nine and 10 both took risks against intense competition and look at them now.

On the other hand, there’s also a chance it would crash, but I think like Nine and 10, they should be ready to take risks and they’ll at least have a chance of rating solidly in Summer rather than underwhelming ratings with BBL and now MKR.

Nine certainly knew there were risks associated with launching MAFS against a tennis fuelled MKR at the time, but they defied the odds and now are reaping rewards with MAFS dominating everything.

They might be or they might be exactly in the position 10 are in now? With a sucessful launch and then a struggle when the competition comes. They could have even had a worse summer than they currently did.

Also haven’t you said how bad MKR is and how it is a sinking ship or an doesn’t have the calibre of other cooking shows? Do you really think a 10 year old show would just magically lift without a platform to launch it from?

I don’t know that the tennis necessarily gave MAFS such a big boost. MAFS was already smashing MKR last year.

Lats couple of years, they struggled against it at the start of the season when they had all the wedding ceremonies but then it picked up and was beating MKR. They tweaked MAFS this year so it wasn’t all wedding ceremonies at the start and it paid off.

Plus fatigue set in for MKR after so many years of bitchy teams dominating the headlines, they probably overcooked the concept by having for teams full of bitchy contestants this year.

Anyway, as others have said, it will be interesting to see whether Nine will keep the momentum going or whether Seven are able to make a comeback.

Nine and UKTV are co-producing a new four-part documentary focusing on WA vet Rick Fenny, the “Mad Max” of vets and 2018 West Australian of the Year finalist. It will be called Desert Vet in Australia and Outback Vet internationally. Filming will start in April with an expected air date in late 2019.

I’m guessing The Footy Show (AFL) will air at 9.00 in Melbourne, with New Amsterdam moved to 10.30 (or possibly 8.30 Thursday)

Most of the Nine programming guides that TV Cynic gets before market variations are probably for TCN Sydney?

Im guessing that ARL might be a typo? The ARL is the NRL and that show was axed after last year.
