I agree, wouldn’t be surprised to see the night time stuff becoming more reruns and films eventually. Even nick@night would be good!
It would not surprise me in a year or so to see the channel become children/ family 24/7 with the MTV slowly removed.
Yeah OK, but how high do you really expect the kids shows on 10 Shake to rate?
Now admittedly I’m currently not sure how long it’ll take for OzTAM to start collecting viewing figures for the new channel, but would be very surprised if any 10 Shake titles (whether during the day or at night) appeared in the list of Top 20 Multichannel shows for quite some time to come.
I don’t disagree with this point. Can’t imagine the trashy MTV “reality” shows rating that highly!
I’d guess it happens the first day.
What makes you say that?
Lots of places where kids are at home (I think this starts in school holidays in most states?) and parents needing something to sit their kids in front of, I can see this easily competing with ABC Kids for that market, as there’s a lot of name brand kids programming on 10 Shake.
The only issue will be how well people are aware of the new channel, but I think they have the content to do quite well.
The night time content no chance, but daytime kids programming for a clear 6-6 block will do very well for Ten, and good enough to see some of it make the top 20 very early on.
Agree, like I said above I expect gradual changes, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Nick block gets extended til 8.30 or something.
The complete guide for this Sunday 6am - Midnight can be seen on yourTV.com.au.
A very formidable kids schedule.
yet its not on the EPG. Strange!
I actually thought 10 Peach would have gotten back Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but obviously its gone to Shake.
So the weekday line up has pre school shows until 3pm next week. That’s pretty shit. It’s school holidays. The older kids aren’t ganna watch all the pre school shows. Bad move.
Teen Mom Australia - Season 2
Teen Mom Australia Is Returning For Season Two And A New Arrival Joins The Motherhood.
MTV today announced that reality series Teen Mom Australia will be returning for a second season in 2020.
Following a successful premiere season, the Australian version of the ground-breaking Teen Mom franchise will return in a free-to-air first with a simulcast premiere of the series across MTV and new channel 10 Shake.
Fan favourites, Ammi (20), Sita (20) and Georgina (21) are all back for season two and a brand-new mum, Tanisha (19) will be welcomed into the motherhood.
Since the launch of the Teen Mom franchise in 2010 more than 7.4 million Australians have watched Teen Mom on MTV. 1
Helen McMurdo, Senior Director, Youth & Entertainment Brands said: “We’re incredibly excited to bring audiences a second season of Teen Mom Australia . The success of season one saw not only local but global audiences fall in love with the honest and endearing stories of these strong Australian women.
“With season two set to premiere simultaneously on 10 Shake, Foxtel and Fetch, we’re thrilled to see the show find even more fans thanks to the merged ViacomCBS business.”
Season one introduced Ammi, Sita and Georgie to MTV audiences as they managed a life filled with nappies, tears and tantrums combined with the everyday drama and complexities of simply being a teenager.
This season we meet single Melbourne mum, Tanisha Kandiah. She has a tumultuous relationship with her mother, herself a teen mum and is experiencing the complexities of co-parenting her daughter Bianca.
Dealing with relationship breakdowns, new jobs, financial challenges and the arrival of a new baby, all four mums are put to the test this season.
But it ain’t all tears and tantrums! With the support of partners, friends and family our teen moms can do anything.
The reality series is the latest addition to the growing list of local productions by MTV Australia. Other recent premieres include The Veronicas: Blood Is For Life, MTV Unplugged Melbourne , MTV TRL and MTV Cribs.
Teen Mom Australia is coming soon to 10 Shake and on MTV on Foxtel, Foxtel Now and Fetch. It is produced by WTFN.
Shouldn’t it be “Teen Mum Australia”?
I’m not quite sure what’s more depressing…
*The fact there’s even such a thing as Teen Mom Mum Australia
*That the program is now into a second season
*That this will probably be one of the marquee titles for 10 Shake
It’s an international (US) brand, so no.
Such an appealing show
No doubt 10’s primary demographics will lap it up as usual.
No doubt there’ll be initial interest in 10 Shake’s ratings and a focus on the daily publicly available prime time, but I hope we get an idea how its day time (including mornings) performs, as clearly that’s where a lot of the performers will be.
I think it’s good to see an Australian production and first run programming for the new channel.
It should have been. They could have branded it that way for Australia and if it was sold overseas, branded it the American way.
Other shows from Australia get rebranded when they sell overseas. Doctor Doctor is The Heart Doctor overseas.
It is not unusual for program titles to be translated in other markets.
Just one question. Is WIN Television going to be broadcasting this channel. If not, how will WIN meet the required childrens content to meet their licensing obligations?
