They have affiliation with BBC. Might as well just giving airtime over to the World Service.
More compelling than hours upon hours of “best-ofs”.
Meanwhile ZB… still live all day.

She probably hasn’t fully immersed herself in the role yet but Pip Keane has a lot to prove as the chief AUDIO officer. Still stumped as to why she was hired when her CV boasts a list of cancelled TV shows. RNZ had an opportunity to hire a decent radio leader and instead they’ve put someone in there who is part of the problem.
Wasn’t she Campbell’s producer on Checkpoint though?
Is it really that bad? Must confess I haven’t listened to the show but I do listen to Phil O’Brien sometimes and he’s okay (IMO).
No, I enjoy it, but there’s plenty of people who either don’t, or pretend they don’t. It helps to have a diverse range in music taste.
I just tuned into Gold Sport on 1332AM hoping to hear a bit of rock and it’s all country music by the sounds of it - has the AM frequency been taken over by iHeart Country as well?? I don’t remember hearing or seeing anything about a format change.
I noticed that too. GOLD on iheart is playing classic rock though.
Also noticed HAURAKI has gone full on alternative rock again.
Ah well. I have no interest in either country music or sport, so time to delete that preset off my radio.
Interesting they’re still calling it Gold though - I thought they would have renamed it in lieu of it playing country music now (not classic rock anymore).
Sounds like Newstalk ZB have refreshed their news jingles/imaging this morning.
The change happened at midnight.
NZME really want that country station to succeed. Not an ad break on an NZME station where they aren’t running promos for it, so unusual to promote a music station on another station, even if they are owned by the same company.
The sound is 14 as,of new years day..
Sample of the full package from today’s 12pm bulletin.
Nice evolution I reckon.
I quite liked ZB’s imaging they were using in 2008 - does anyone have a copy of/link to this?
I don’t think many people listen to it on iHeart Radio.
Seriously? Even on, say, ZM? ![]()
There’s a bit of it in here- I think they relaunched a few weeks after this.
