If you’d bothered to read you’d see that there isn’t a NZ version

We wouldnt have had this if the merger had gone through.

Just saying.

OK, I reprahse that to the hypothetical NZ version.

I had drops in my eyes and they’re still f**ked up.

According to TBI, TVNZ has also extended its long-standing output deal with ITV Studios, and will continue to air shows like Coronation Street, Emmerdale, The Chase, The Voice UK, The Voice USA, The Voice Australia and Hell’s Kitchen.

Swish wee upgrade on CRC Motorsport (TV3)… now using the big screen. It seems the desk is another way to eek a little more income for the show!

Who thought that the desk would fit with the rest of the show?

Yet [TVNZ] suddenly appears leaderless and vulnerable – a situation that is causing extreme disquiet within many sectors of the industry. Steve Tindall, chief investment officer at ad agency Group M, describes Jackson as having put “a bomb into TVNZ”. A TVNZ source says that if Jackson succeeds it will devastate TVNZ’s revenue, “and the hole will be filled by the taxpayer”. Production industry veteran John Barnett went further still, telling ShowNews recently that Jackson’s moves “could potentially lead to the downfall of public broadcasting”.

Worth reading for the correction at the bottom alone. I’m saying nothing

Would they include Non-commercialise TVNZ 1 and TVNZ 2 for a pontenital sell off

They’re better off bringing back TVNZ6 & TVNZ7.

Yes, I agree with you New Zealanders missing out on good quality 24/7 News that is canned by last National Government

If John Barnett had his way, there would be no public service broadcasting in this country whatsoever. It would all just be reality TV, wall to wall. The guy really needs to realize that some things are more important than MasterChef. Like educating and informing the population.

We get it, you don’t like reality TV. No need to be such a pessimist about NZ TV all the time.

Especially TVNZ 1 need to stop airing reality programmes especially Australian and British series like Paramedics, Space Invaders, Millionaire Hot Seat, Roads Less Travelled, Rich House, Poor House, Big Body Hotel, True Crime series, Starstruck, Location Location, Location if TVNZ1 gone non-Commerical and all of these shows mentioned above will need to move to TVNZ 2, if the channel move away from youth focused to an older audience and TVNZ will need to launch a new youth channel to have leftover TVNZ 2 programmes and a relaunch of TVNZ7.

Given that any attempt to implement public service broadcasting has been killed by those who are affiliated with reality TV producers, I have every single reason to be pessimistic. If you look at TV3, its all just reality TV, wall to wall.

Quality of this NZ TV has an all time low, TVNZ 1 should turn into NZ version of ABC TV Australia have no ads and quality doco and dramas and they should relaunch TVNZ 7 channel. In the 2005 election campaign Don Brash wanted to sell off TV2 to a private company.
