Australia Cup Final.

Melbourne Victory FC V Macarthur FC. Sunday, 29 September At 6.30pm On 10 Bold And 10 Play.

What started with 758 teams, has come down to two. The Australia Cup Final will be a battle of the giants when Melbourne Victory FC and Macarthur FC face off on Sunday, 29 September with live coverage kicking off at 6.30pm on 10 Bold and 10 Play.

758 teams from every corner of Australia had their eye on the prize at the start of the year, but after a competition full of cupsets and stunning goals, only two clubs remain to be crowned Australia Cup Winners. Now, Melbourne Victory FC and Macarthur FC are set to battle it out for the title – and a golden ticket to the 2025-26 AFC Champions League Two. Talk about a goal worth shooting for!

Melbourne Victory FC were the first to book their place in the Australia Cup 2024 Final after defeating Adelaide United FC on Saturday evening, qualifying for their third Australia Cup Final and first since they won the competition in 2021.

On Sunday, a late penalty saw Macarthur FC advance to the Final over South Melbourne FC (Football VIC), as the Isuzu UTE A-League Men side attempts to claim their second Australia Cup title.

Melbourne Victory FC – one of the most successful teams in the modern era of the Australia Cup – will be looking to build on their perfect track record in two previous Finals (2015 and 2021). Meanwhile, Macarthur FC enters the Final with the confidence of a more recent Cup success, having lifted the Australia Cup in 2022.

Will Melbourne Victory equal Adelaide’s record of three Australia Cup titles, or can the Macarthur Bulls hoof their way to another Cup win? Either way, grab your mates, settle in, and get ready to goal crazy!

This is where the 10 Sport watermark makes more sense, for sports coverage on multis like 9 do with WWOS. Also reinforces their sports brand somewhat.

10 just had a small montage at the end of tonight’s coverage - of the Socceroos qualifying for the few World Cups from over the years - including the 1974 one. Pretty impressive too. And then started talking about Tony Popovic being the new coach of the team.

Tonight’s telecast finished with some new exciting news: A new weekly soccer show is starting. Called “The Weekly Kick Off”, to air on Wednesdays. First on Paramount+ and 10Play at 5pm, and then on 10Bold at 10.30pm. Begins October 9.

Why couldn’t this air on 10 at some point. Is there anything from the 10-10.30pm window that could be in. It could act as a good lead in to the late news

Doubt it would be a good lead-in, probably a decent lead out from the late news maybe? May be likely they’ll encore it through the week on the main channel.

Why do they always put their sports shows on Bold…
Unless they rename Bold to 10 Sport because at this point, it feels Bold gets 50% - if not more - of the sports content.

Simply there is not enough interest or viewers for this, and the sports they have to air on the main channel.

Exactly - they’ve already tried airing A-League on the main channel, and it flopped.

This is new and joining the midweek review/preview program. They’ve actually enhance the coverage this year. Can’t say they haven’t tried to build the coverage. Australians are just not interested in local football and it doesn’t rate. But a decent effort nonetheless.

The “guests” word makes me think it’s just the normal style mid-matches program and he’ll be an occasional guest. They’re just using his name to stir up memories of SSE.

I noticed the ‘World of Football’ FAST channel on 10 play has disappeared, mustn’t have been very popular.

The Realmadrid.tv channel is still there.
