Neighbours

Depending on the twists and turns, who knows. It doesn’t seem logical, I am offering an explanation as to why it might be. At least they didnt do to Neighbours what Seven did to The Power, The Passion in 1989 and screen it at 11:30pm when it failed to attract a following in its daytime slot

A very 80s interaction between Jane Harris and her old nemesis Sue Parker.
Sue: Plain Jane Superbrain and her criminal cleaner toy boy.
Jane: Rack off, Sue.
Sue: Rack off! Really? Rack off?

I hope the producers/writers are planning for a possible spin off because at the moment they’ve got some great characters with many possible storylines. Characters like Elle, Felix, the Varga-Murpys (ex Dex), Max, Zac and maybe Colton should all stay, and of course Paul.

They could have Karl and Susan, Vera and Terese all as recurring characters.

Characters to leave would be the Rodwells, Leo and Krista, Taye, Jane and Nicolette and probably Holly, who’s gone through more than most people in her lifetime and there isn’t much to add to the character.

Past characters from the Robinson/Ramsey clans could return to keep the rivalry going.

Home and Away improved their ratings by moving away from the school and focussing on older characters so perhaps this is what the producers/writers are aiming at with characters like Elle and Felix.

It’s just a thought…. I’m really enjoying the show at the moment and feeling a bit nostalgic and sad about its demise.

Pretty sure Neighbours were using the Big Brother dramatic music at the start of todays episode.

What about moving the characters from Erinsborough to Summer Bay. They did it with Peter Fanelli character from Skyways to Cop Shop

Except Skyways and Cop Shop were both produced by Crawfords, and Neighbours (Grundy->Fremantle) and Home and Away (Seven in-house) are produced by two different companies.

Could Fremantle do a deal with Channel 7 and hand them Neighbours Characters and Location Names to Home and Away for Big $ Money Money Money?

There’s about as much chance of that happening as there is a reboot of the Bob Morrison show.

TV Tonight did an infamous April fool’s article about that idea back in 2022 after Neighbours’ first cancellation.

I can see Channel 7 being a Indian Giver when they got rid of Neighbours in 1980’s

A post was merged into an existing topic: Different Bat-Time, Different Bat-Channel (Shows on more than one network)

So there are episode on Ten and Ten Comedy on the Monday and Tuesday as usual - but when will the penultimate episode play on Comedy? Are they showing a double bill on the Friday, a straight encore of Thursday’s Ten broadcast?

Remember when Ten cared about Neighbours

In the late 90’S and early 2000’S did Fremantle Media/Grundy’s get Financial help from a U.K TV Company to produce and make Neighbours.I don’t know why Network Ten couldn’t make Neighbours in-house like 7 Network does with Home and Away?

Neighbours was always produced by a production company external from the network. Home and Away has always been produced in house. Totally different set ups from the get go.

Given 10 has lacked interest in Neighbours for around 30 years, so even if 10 had the money to buy the program itself from Grundys, 10 didnt have interest in the program.
