8.40pm seems late.
Drop the DoND repeat at 7pm despite having a really horrible lead in then with News+
Well, that will be annoying to all the viewers who watched it at 4pm for the past two years, if they have to wait until 8.40 for the finale.
Maybe they should show it in prime time on the previous night as a double episode. So repeat the Wednesday (10 Dec) afternoon episode first, followed by the finale which was originally scheduled for Thursday afternoon (11 Dec).
Otherwise just show the finale on Wednesday night 8.40pm and then repeat it Thursday afternoon 4pm in its regular slot.
What is scheduled at 7.30pm?

Is the final a normal 30 minute episode? Or is it 2 episodes sewn together (like they did, i think, at the last final two odd years ago)?
Oops. Yes. 
They should just show the finale on Wednesday night and repeat it Thursday afternoon.
So they are doing a double episode but on Thursday and not Wednesday as I suggested.
That’s annoying because the episodes will screen on Amazon earlier on Wednesday and Thursday in the UK.

Tuesday 9th Dec 4pm on 10
Wed 10th Dec (None)
Thursday 11th 8:40pm double finale on 10

They can’t due to Amazon rights. You are never happy, they gave it the primetime screening and you still aren’t satisfied.

TV Tonight understands discussions were afoot for other timeslots, but were subject to co-ordination with Amazon in the UK.
Aussie fans will need to avoid online spoilers for around 2.5hrs, depending on where they live, with Amazon dropping the finale in the UK at 6pm AEDT on Dec 11.
why 8:40pm the ‘co-ordination’ can’t be why it’s 8:40pm? They could have done 7:30pm or even 7pm if they didn’t air a repeat of DOND. 8:40pm just seems weird

We have an answer. The Graham Norton Show will be on at 7.30pm on Neighbours Finale night. Despite Graham Norton airing at 8.40pm this week. Very strange from 10.

I wasn’t advocating for a prime time slot. It would be fine if it screened in prime time in Australia first but it isn’t. I would rather watch it on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon as I have been watching it for the past two years.
Now I can’t engage with Neighbours fans on social media because I won’t have access to the episodes until long after they have watched these two episodes.
