It seems like NBN has reverted back to Australian English and started calling it Soccer instead of football… I prefer this because in NSW, football was traditionally referring to NRL…
ABC News uses Soccer too.

I didn’t know that. I’m guessing it’s to distinguish between Australian rules football and association football.
And the rugby codes too.
Wednesday 5 June - Tyson Cottrill is presenting with Tash tonight. Fairly sure it is the first time he has presented in a double header (happy to be corrected), but I am liking it.
Interesting that the live shot can look quite different for the pre-recorded local windows.
Live with storms at the start of the bulletin…
And then daylight for the start of the Central Coast window
That’s a worry when they make those kinds of mistakes. Hopefully it’s a one off.
I mean, who would even notice?
At least three people did…
Agree that the general public by and large wouldn’t, but then, it’s about maintaining a consistent brand.
Well, it is NBN, not wrong. Whether it is NBN or NBN News, there is no difference.
NBN as a brand doesn’t exist anymore.
The only brands they have now are Nine and NBN News.
Technically not correct @Radiohead . Here is the online tv guide for Newcastle as published by www.yourTV.com.au - which is another nine brand (noted the nine.com.au logo in top left corner of the yourtv website). Most probably done for consistent identification purposes online given the metro overlap on the Central Coast in NSW and Gold Coast in QLD.
Also I have seen advertisements for local events where NBN Television is a sponsor. Admittedly outside these things most network idents are Nine, which is probably more a convenience thing, much like 7 did in its later years (multichannels dropped Prime branding as early as 2011) with the completion of the rebranding occurring in July 2022 with local news bulletins being called Seven News (region it was for eg Seven News New England - defining the old NEN9 region).
Those guides are not correct, if you look at Newcastle for example, they use both the NBN and 9HD logos for what is the same channel. Neither of those is reflective of what appears on air as 9 stopped using the HD add on sometime ago.
The only logo i ever see used in sponorships etc Newcastle Knights is the NBN News logo, never the 9 or NBN one. For instance, check the signage used at Knights games and the Knights list of sponsors ( Sponsors | Knights )
The only time the NBN logo regularly appears on air is for the “Goodnight Big Dog”'. For some reason, that’s never been updated. Perhaps Nine didn’t want their logo on it, and the NBN News wouldn’t be appropriate. They could have used the Nine NBN Corporate logo though.
I suppose the NBN Television Facebook page is wrong too? Page last posted on by NBN Television 10 hours ago
I think we can move on now
It’s inconsistent, and that’s part of the problem. Anyway.
Watching Jack Howard read sport is really difficult. It’s a shame how downhill the sport team has gone.
