SBS have also been airing a number of Warners movies recently, but like with Seven and Nine, don’t appear to get bvod rights (protecting HBO Max yet shortly to change with Paramount no doubt?)
Wonder if their agreement is with the ABC’s, both being Australian public networks? Tough unlikely.
But for example Fury Road tonight, a bit of a coup for SBS!

Good to have some Australian film premieres. But a shame they’re shafted to the daytime slots though. I hope they get a more family friendly timeslot soon.
Next Wednesday (1 April), SBS Viceland is airing Groundhog Day five times in a row. Yes, you read that right. At 3.00pm, 4.55pm, 6.50pm, 8.45pm, 10.40pm.
In line with the movies theme, as well as a nice April Fools joke, and in line with other marathons SBS has aired in recent times (airing The Fifth Element numerous times in a row).
Used to love Ten’s promos for Groundhog Day, where they’d air it like 3 times in a row 
Would be great if someone had it captured somewhere. Think I last recall them running it around 2009. Of course the Sony deal thereafter went to Nine and then Seven.
I loved the BBC News’ bit they ran on the actual Groundhog Day recently, was very funny.

Thank you so much for these added ratings.
Interesting to see the viewing pattern of these back to back films. Also, it’s not often we see the daytime movies ratings too. They look respectable (in term of SBS Movies standards). I assume its A (for Afternoon), LA (late afternoon), EE (Early Evening), P (primetime) and LN (Late Night).
A lack of Easter movies on FTA today (maybe over the weekend), or I should say being Good Friday religious/Christian films.
Didn’t the likes of The Greatest Story Ever Told, The Ten Commandments, The Last Temptation of Christ, Ben Hur and The Passion used to regularly get run? Even recent times I can recall like on 9Gem. Nine have aired 2014’s Noah before.
Can only see Willy Wonka on 9Go! tonight, which is really better suited to Sunday anyway.
Or even upload some on bvod. Disappointing. Wonder if svod have any available.

Surprised Hop isn’t shown this weekend
SBS Viceland airing a Disney (Touchstone) film tonight, 1989’s forgotten Three Fugitives starring Nick Nolte and Martin Short, which did quite well at the box office at least in North America at the time.
That era from the early 80s to mid-90s when Buena Vista released a string of films via a multi-partner funding arrangement, known variously as “Silver Screen Partners” and “Touchwood Pacific Partners”, where Warners’ HBO and even former President Bush were involved.
Also, I believe edited for a PG rating theatrically and early VHS here in Australia, but never re-rated or released on DVD. It contains some swearing and violence, SBS’ classifiers have observed just that, disagreeing with the CB and have instead given it an M rating for tonight.
Also wonder if it’ll be uploaded to On Demand? Disney titles seldom get bvod and svod outside of Disney Plus.

Bit of a random question that I had.
So I don’t normally watch movies on FTA, however, last night I ended up watching The Sound of Music on 7Flix. As always, Seven cut off the end credits for the production end card, however, what was shown was this:
(Note, text underneath the Walt Disney part may have been different as I can’t remember what exactly it was)
This doesn’t make sense as the film was made by 20th Century Fox, and Disney didn’t purchase them until well after this end card had been retired in 2006.
So my question is do Seven insert this one at the end of every film from Disney, regardless of if it’s Disney or 20th Century Fox, or could’ve someone on Disney inserted it on the file they sent to Seven and they picked the wrong one?
It was Seven, just a careless error, inserted the wrong ender for continuous flow. Sound of Music was probably internally filed with the distributor as “Disney” (instead of Fox) now and they’ve plucked that one out.
Also note how old that WD logo is anyway, not used in 20 years, same for all those other studio enders Seven put at the end of m/c movie airings.
I’d guess if you went back to a Seven m/c airing of Sound of Music from several years back (like 2018-2020), when they had a 20C Fox agreement and Fox were still their own company, it’d most likely have the 20C Fox ender on the playout.
Zendaya before she was famous (she’d only done Disney Channel series’/DCOM before that) with HBO’s Euphoria and since then several major movies and engaged to Tom Holland.
Will still never forget how blown away I was when I saw Greatest Showman at the cinemas, a nice surprise, was not expecting that and fellow audiences agreed, ended up becoming a sleeper hit fan favourite. Was great seeing Jackman back to his roots.
