Ashleigh Barty’s three set match that saw her eliminated from Wimbledon helped give Seven its first Monday win in 9 weeks winning all markets except Sydney. Nine, however, will be pleased with the launch of Ninja Warrior to just over one million – up from 929,000 last year and the number one show in Melbourne. Season low for Have You Been Paying Attention. No boost for the Project with Carrie’s return.

Depending on Seven’s coding, the WIMBLEDON 2019-DAY 7 number for the main channel may be adjusted.

Nine will be happy that Ninja’s season launch is higher than last year. New city certainly brought different results.
HYBPA got a double whammy from Ninja and tennis, posting its lowest audience since October 1 last year.

Nine has to be congratulated for week in week out consistency in the 7:30pm slot this year. MAFS, Lego, Voice, Ninja, Block… hovering around the million mark. QUite remarkable in this day age.

The Project 7pm seems quite low?

I agree. Nine seems to be on the roll this year. Most of the shows have started off above the magic million mark. I don’t think they have had a massive flop so far compared to Ten and Seven.

Masterchef is really running out of puff as it gets to the pointy end of the competition. It’s not doing particularly well in the demos, either.

And their returning shows are doing as well, if not better, than last year. Unlike Seven’s & Ten’s which have seen significant declines.

It helps when you got one network (‘cough’ Seven ‘cough’) which hasn’t evolved its lineup in years & can’t seem to launch new programs to save its life and another network (‘cough’ 10 ‘cough’) which can’t attract decent ratings for pretty much any of their shows this year

a 0.3 for 7food?

Whats the purpose of this channel when SBS Food was 0.9

To be fair to 7, they are basically where 9 was not too long ago - unable or unwilling to revamp their schedule. 7 however have the strength of News, AFL and multi-channels which 9 didnt all those years ago, so they are still competitive from a % perspective.

Good result for Hot Seat last night

Nine will be reasonably happy with those ratings for Australian Ninja Warrior, over a million viewers across the five main metro markets and a 66k increase in Melbourne compared to the overnight figure for last year’s season premiere.

The Sydney figures are down by 10k compared to the overnight figure for last year’s season premiere but since ANW was still the market’s top entertainment program last night, Nine would hardly be complaining.

I would also say that the change in networks for the Australian Open (and potentially, the Disney output deal for Australian FTA with titles once strongly associated with Seven appearing on Nine recently) has also helped Nine this year.

You really have to wonder just how far ahead Nine might be if they got their act together with Today and to some extent, the 6pm news.

There’d be mixed feelings though as to whether or not Nine would want to have the AFL rights though because while they’d gain viewers in the Southern states, they’d likely loose viewers in the Northern states if they lost the NRL.

Ninja Warrior did better than I expected but it’s not like Seven are offering much competition.

I’m not sure what time Wimbledon started but those numbers are good for such a late coverage. I tuned in just after 9.30 to see Barty lose :frowning: It’s great to have these tournaments aired on main channels on free to air.

It seems promoting a show as Made in Melbourne really does boost the Melbourne audience without hurting the Sydney audience. Wonder if next year’s MAFS is going to be filmed in Melbourne?

I’m all for the next season of Love Island being filmed on Phillip Island… in the middle of winter. Make the himbos and bimbos parade around in their boardies and bikinis. With any luck they’ll all get pneumonia and the series will have to be cancelled.

With Carrie back it was good last night. Hopefully the it can build the audience again early in the week.

Watching Matt Preston woof down a plate full of food in a couple of mouthfuls every night gets tiresome, as does George bouncing around shouting “You’ve got ten minutes to go”.

It worked for Holiday Island.

Mine just can’t do anything wrong this year. I guess they are helped by seven and 10 as the year haven’t reinvented their schedule and it’s quite uninspiring.

Technically aside from LEGO Masters, neither have Nine.
