Last night was Nine’s for its fourth straight Monday win. The network shares were all within 1 percentage point of the previous week with Nine winning along the east coast and Seven taking out Adelaide and Perth. 10 ranked second in Melbourne and was just 0.1% behind Seven in Sydney. 10 won across the younger demographic groups.

The headline numbers saw MasterChef number one – up 20k from last week to its highest Monday audience since launch. The Voice was second up 10k and Big Brother third down 20k - its second lowest audience so far this season. The Voice ranked 8th in 25-54

Post reality result were dominated by Have You been Paying Attention? despite a drop of 60,000 week-on-week. ABBA’s Greatest Hits was 24th and 10 Years Younger 31st.

Nine News Melbourne hit 400,000 again before suffering a big drop in the second half, losing to Seven News.
ABC’s post-7.30pm line-up all fell from last week with the exception of Q+A.
(I noticed ABC’s primary share was missing above. For the record, its primary share last night was 13.6%)

Is it just me, or are the 5:30pm portion of The Chase / Hot Seat figured up a fair bit?

A surprising drop in shares for ten this week compared to last week.

They routinely increase in winter, but even more so this year with so many people working from home and likely turning on the TV earlier

Certainly The Chase. Since Ten News has lost its good lead in from new episodes of Bold it had lost a bit of momentum and now both halves of The Chase has been outrating the entire 5pm news hour.
Hot seats not a fair comparison as it airs at 4pm in 2 states. If it was 5pm them Ten News would be officially 3rd in its slot for all metro markets.

It appears Nine News Melb has a very large viewership that only had an interest in News, a large chunk that have no interest in sport whatsoever. These people dont appear to be switching over to 7 looking at some previous numbers. They must have a older demographic watching.

It’s a big dropoff. I guess they need to work on getting those 7 Sport viewers across. Securing more sports rights would probably be the only way.

Goes to show the big difference between total viewers and key demos.
Big Brother had 125k less metro viewers than The Voice yet it still came 3rd/4th in the key demos whilst The Voice could only manage 8th. Masterchef continues to overpower both shows in total viewership as well as demos

Great figures for Alan Jones at 109K; it boosted PML and I guess Bolt Report benefitted too with an increase.

Big Brother continues it’s fall and Q&A didn’t make the Top 20 despite putting Shaun Micallef in its promos last week.

For all the hype about Alan Jones’ ratings for Sky News, it’s well worth keeping in mind that his show received less viewers nationally last night (at least via Pay TV) than any of the Top 20 multichannel programs just in Australia’s five main markets.

The demos are very revealing as well. In three markets the program had no viewers in 16-39.

We don’t need the youth brainwashed by the loony.

Lol, also worth noting the multi channels are in 100% of homes with 20 channels of competition where as Sky is in 30% of homes and over 100 channels and 5 times as much competition

But really, who needs context when you’re trying to push an agenda

If I really had an agenda to push, I never would’ve acknowledged that Alan Jones on 2GB breakfast was #1 in the Sydney radio ratings for all those years. But I did that at just about each and every survey release.

Sure, the ratings for Alan Jones’ new show on Sky News are high by the standards of subscription television in Australia but that isn’t really saying much when it’s often only sport and Gogglebox (plus the occasional lead-in/out to that show, such as Selling Houses Australia) which gets over 100k for Foxtel.

So your argument is that subscription TV has low penetration in Australia. Which it does

But that’s a different argument to Sky or Jones ratings are not good because in their universe they are incredible

It’s still an increase on that timeslot which as of late hasn’t really been in sync with the rest of the lineups figures. It’s a success given FTA multi’s are available for all to watch.

And if i entertained your point; 109k for AJ still beat whatever was on the commercials from 8-9pm on the multi’s.

Reminder that the Foxtel numbers posted are national - as opposed to the FTA numbers that are just for the 5 -cities. Jones 5-city number was below that for programming on FTA multichannels
