Nine’s best Monday share in 4 months (since the Ashes) and 10’s lowest Monday since July. Nine won the three east coast markets plus the key demos. 10 still managed second place in the demos despite the low total people share.

The biggest change from recent weeks was Have You Been Paying Attention? that recorded its lowest audience since 8 July. I suspect this was a result of The Block’s post 9pm finish time overlapping the first half of the show. Nine’s The Block and Love Island were up slightly on last Monday while Seven’s Bride and Prejudice still ranked 4th in its timeslot. The Amazing Race was down from the debut episode but rated higher than episode two last Tuesday.

HYBPA plunged 200,000 viewers from last week. Did the viewers dislike Tim McDonald that much? The drop ended the show’s longest streak of pulling 800,000 or more viewers (eight weeks).

Why would you blame one person for that? I can’t see how that could be true. Why do you think he’s offensive?

Last time Tim was on the show some viewers thought he was not funny.

As I suggested, I would have been because The Block was a 90+ minute episode last night.

That discussion happened in Media Spy. I hardly think that would drastically affect ratings. It’s dangerous to make assumptions based on Media Spy shitcanning. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

As @TVCynic suggests, there is a more realistic explanation.

Not bad for TARA and doing okay in the demos too, pretty much what I expected for the show. A good place to 10 to build from if it continues to hold those sorta numbers, like they did with Survivor.

Hopefully they can increase the budget a bit more next year if it proceeds and fix up a few things, which may just come with more time for filming and post production etc.

Out of curiosity do you know Tim?

Not at all. I’d never heard if him before he appeared on the show. Just thought it was rough of you and others to bag him after one appearance.

I think new talent deserves to be nurtured and supported. Some of his jokes might be on the edge…but I liked that.

I’ve tried to get into it but can’t stand the host! Plus not much new has been done to the format.

The two shows 10 rebooted from 7 this year have both done similar 500k ish numbers (TARA and DWTS)

I actually have a different opinion from you. I like the host and I thought he did a pretty decent job with a sense of humour. Last night, it was awkward when he was trying to talk to the Vietnamese girl at the pitt stop (something about the kids) and she pretty much didn’t show much expression. I thought that was funny:)

And although not much new has been done to the format, I am not sure if you need to tweak it too much to deviate from the actual concept of the show.

I didn’t ‘bag’ him just said I didn’t find his humour that funny. I did think he was a lot better last night so I am glad they gave him another go.

I thought Bride and Prejudice was quite popular last year on 7 but it has rated lower than The Amazing Race in total people and not even in the top 5 in the demos.

I like Beau too. It may be because I didn’t really know him beforehand but I think he’s doing quite well. The conversation with the Vietnamese girl came about after Team Deadly said they were missing their son. They headed off and Beau asked the Vietnamese girl if she had kids. She just nodded, with no emotion. Beau replied with ‘Yep’…(awkward pause)…‘that’s good’. It was quite funny and I’m glad they kept it in after editing.

She probably didn’t understand a word of English and I think Beau was just cracking a joke for his own amusement. I thought it was hilarious. I’m glad they kept in too. It worked well.

Would the lower share for 10 have anything to do with the figure 10 had after Have You Been Paying Attention? I know Just for Laughs has been rating quite well and Sports Tonight not so much.

Somewhat but Just For Laughs was only a 30 minutes show and had been on for just a few weeks while 10s share was the lowest since July.

The Amazing Race isn’t doing that great. These low 500k numbers are nothing to get excited about. It is also dragging HYBPA down with it. Let’s see if there is any increase tonight. There should be with the cup on Ten but I’m not so sure if it will fire much more. Beau is putting me so off it.

I wasn’t watching, not because of the talent (who is Tim McDonald, anyway?) but because our suburb had a power outage thanks to the thunderstorm that passed over Melbourne at about that time. Power wasn’t back on until 3.30am.
