#21

Although realistically it won’t happen, I personally think Ten needs to schedule more of their big franchises like Dancing With The Stars later in the week when MKR/MAFS aren’t on air due to the (still upcoming at the time of posting) sporting commitments of Seven & Nine.

People here (myself included) were surprised at how I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here rated this year against cricket/tennis and we know how well shows like The Bachelor/ette have performed later in the week, so maybe Ten needs to consider scheduling more of their key franchises against late week AFL/NRL coverage if they’re serious about being the alternative network.

#22

The Four Corners exposé on Cardinal George Pell after it drew an even bigger audience.

#23

What will work against MAFS? Obviously nothing on at the moment…

But still, the takeaway for worst performance has to be MKR.

#24

So a show that is getting over 700k is worse than Changing Rooms (below 200k), DWTS (below 500k), Sunday Night Takeaway (below 400k), Bondi (below 400k), Ambulance (below 400k) and many others? Right…

#25

I think he meant under-performing in comparison to before.

That being said, for a new show to be beaten by an under-performing show is still pretty awful to say the least.

#26

I think one of the networks should commission a show based on what was on Get Krack!n recently. They had a guest on the show who was from hit reality show “Divorced and Horny”. :joy:

#27

Yes, but Four Corners has got into the 700k and even 800k before, including last year IIRC. But Media Watch is usually much much lower, even under 500k or 400k sometimes.

#28

MKR is down almost 400k year on year so yes that would be more of a concern rather than Ten’s usual bad ratings.

#29

If you look at it that way so has 10 at times this season. I’m a Celebrity has previously got around the 600-700k mark on a Thursday. They got around 200k there with Changing Rooms and Ambulance.

I don’t think 7 would be as concerned as 10. And they shouldn’t. They have a news service to prop them up and AFL coming back. So they know they might do it tough for a few weeks. 10 don’t know what will happen to them after this start.

To say 7 are having a worse performance is idiotic.

#30

Completely agree.

Which is going to have trouble attracting advertising? The show with 200k or the show with 700k viewers?

#31

but it’s not just about attracting the advertising… it’s about what it’s sold for. 7 probably would’ve sold MKR with 1m+ viewers in mind, to have a 200,000 - 300,000 drop in viewers is huge… and their sales team will have to “make good” those clients in other spots, meaning that other primetime shows will not get as much ad $$ on it.

for 10 though, they would’ve only sold the ads conservatively therefore would have far less making up to do.

#32

I really don’t think Ten are selling these new shows to advertisers as the flops they turned out to be. They’re both up the creek without a paddle.

#33

maybe so, but they won’t be selling them for the premium 7 was… and now has to make up.

#34

This is not the argument you were making though mate. You said 7’s performance was worse than 10’s. It clearly is not. Simple. You can’t keep spinning things to try and make 10 look good. 10’s current performance is beyond bad. Yes MKR might be down, might not be what 7 promised advertisers. But it is not as bad as what 10 are in at the moment.

#35

Oh 10 needs improvement, no 2 ways about it.

But 7 would’ve been expecting consistent millions… not the diving their currently taking.

#36

I’m not disagreeing with the fact MKR is underperforming. But your constant shift to say 10 is in less trouble than 7 or MKR is doing worse than anything on 10 is just a complete fabrication.

#37

Whatever man.

10’s no bed of roses right now in the ratings, but bury your head and don’t listen to what I have to say.
