Seven with an easy win again helped by 7Mate’s Paralympic coverage – but last night’s share the lowest of the Games so far. Seven’s main channel was steady while Nine improved. 10, ABC and SBS lost network share.
Seven won all markets as well as key demos. 10 was second in the key demos.

The Voice just stayed above one million as it dropped to a season low losing 100k week-on-week. Meanwhile The Block added an impressive 180,000 as Survivor was steady for its latest tribal twist.

Later HYBPA? was ahead of the pack despite dropping 20,000 week-on-week. The second part of Four Corners’ Fox News investigation was up slightly on part 1. Waiting on clarification as to whether Nine miscoded Under Investigation

Now that the blinds are over looks like The Voice is back to third in the demos. 9 would be sighing in relief.

Very close between Seven News and Nine News in Adelaide over the hour, while Seven News had a clear win in Melbourne.

The cheating scandal was the ratings boost The Block needed.

Guess that’s why Seven commissioned so many episodes of the blind auditions. Having said that they still haven’t addressed the fundamental problem with the show dropping off after the blind auditions. They need to find a way to reinvigorate the format post blinds because it’s too rushed (vs Nine’s being too drawn out), perhaps they need to give it the X Factor treatment and eliminate one each night it airs.

The misnamed it as an encore but otherwise the ratings appear correct - it just bombed - out of the top 20 for the first time, down 50,000 to a series low.

Well we know what’s going to be top of the agenda for the next couple of series then.

Regardless, orchestrated fake drama does have a shelf life and it can’t go on forever and ever before people become tiresome of it. I guess they will milk it as much as they can before the series this decade dies off.

The Voice is still doing very well but it’s probably the episode lengths that are causing any drop off. Over 2 hours each night is way too long.

They focus way too much on having quantity of contestants over giving us a chance to get to know a smaller few. I would rather they quickly shortlist 8 and then cull one a night or something. At least then you get to know contestants more and more over a few nights rather than basing a winner vote on 2-3 performances. There’s no opportunity for growth or for anyone to showcase themselves properly.

Breakfast results were similar to the previous Monday with Sunrise 30,000 ahead of Today that was 30,000 ahead of News Breakfast.

Today achieved the rare feat of winning all three east coast markets - while Sunrise was third in two. Becasue the margins were not large and Sunrise has total domination of the other two markets, Sunrise was still an easy winner.

They managed to s-t-r-e-t-c-h it out for as long as possible last night, without even telling us who took the photo. No doubt this will be dragged out too. Unless someone is kicked off or leaves the show then this is all contrived rubbish.

Do they though? Nine have gone to the hyping some sort of ‘controversy’/‘drama’/‘scandal’ tactic time after time for various shows from MAFS to The Block and it’s worked every single time.

As much as I hate it, you can’t blame them for continuously doing virtually the same thing show after show when it boosts ratings

Is there a reason why “Porsche Supercup” rated so highly? Was it due to another sport overrunning or being rain-affected?
