MasterChef launches to lowest numbers so far (890,000 last year) but gives 10 its best Monday of the survey. Lego Masters drops 300k from Sunday’s launch but the biggest loser on the night is House Rules with just 561,000 – its lowest rating ever – 10th in the 25-54 demo. The Leader’s Debate gives 7Two a boost and keeps Seven competitive.

Solid ratings for the Leaders Debate on 7TWO and Seven Perth, but I feel it took away some viewers from House Rules in eastern states.
Don’t think 10 will be happy with the launch figures for MasterChef.
Big dropoff from Lego Masters to 20 to One.

Ouch awful figures for the launch of Masterchef. Awful promotional campaign. Hardly any external advertising. Yes they made a herb garden on a Sunday at a train station in melbourne that is quiet on weekends (no football in Melbourne so it is even quiter than normal). 10 deserved those figures. Masterchef deserved better.

House Rules is simply doing terrible figures.

Lego Masters does ok.

The Leader’s Debate that was shown on the main channel in Perth ranked 8th there. If that was added to the 7Two rating, it would have ranked 18th overall.

Hot Seat beat Chase - that hasn’t happened for a while.

#8

The Chase was shown at 3pm in Perth with the debate on the main channel at 5.

How does it compare to a usual Monday night in Perth? Aired at 1700? Did it boost or reduce 6pm figures?

#10

The debate rated about the same as The Chase does in Perth. Seven News Perth rated lower than recent Monday numbers. Nine News Perth recorded its second highest 6pm weekday result for the year.

I’m surprised the debate rated so highly. An awful production and out of focus cameras. 7 should be ashamed with what they dished up.

Yeah, thought it’s figure would have been a bit lower considering how poorly the last FTA debate in 2016 rated. Guess people were curious to see Morrison and Shorten on the same platform for the first time.

#14

The preliminary ratings for the debate have been adjusted to account for a coding error. 7Two number was 433,000.

Not bad for Mastermind. I think SBS would be happy with its figure.

#16

Masterchef did pretty much as I expected. Shows are just so much harder to launch on Ten at the moment and I don’t think these audition style opening episodes are very exciting to viewers. Hopefully it will gain a bit of momentum.

#17

It did what I expected as well. This isn’t the fault of Masterchef. It was a great first episode. This was all 10 and there lack to promote it properly.

They know they can launch shows successfully if they promote well enough (I’m a Celebrity?). Yet they expected it to be enough to promote on their main channel to an audience of around 500-600k. They were lucky to get an extra 100k tuning in to be honest.

10 have dropped the ball big time since they launch Dancing.

#18

I’m not surprised.

Think for a minute - Turnbull and Shorten.

What a terribly depressing duo to listen to.

There’s more fight in this. Shorten has changed tack and Morrison is new.

The TVW production quality was inept. Cameras, graphics, broken twitter ticker, you name it.

Family who watched weren’t impressed by Mark Riley or The West’s journo either.

Yet still TVW dominates at 6pm, must be a huge bunch of head in the sand viewers over there. (pun intended)

Foxtel said yesterday’s episode of Game of Thrones pulled the highest on-demand numbers for any episode across all eight seasons, with 377,000 viewers using Foxtel on Demand.

MC is 11 years old. Over 700k for anything on any network these days is pretty good, let alone 10 and this show. Hope it remains stable.

Drop of 180k isn’t good. Its not about the show itself. The show is very polished. Its the fact 10 have obviously run out of the advertising budget and haven’t given it a fair chance to launch to similar figures as last year.

I too hope it can remain steady and if it can remain above 700k throughout the season that is good. Below 700k and its simply isn’t good enough.
