Very close between Seven and Nine with 7Mate Perth’s AFL coverage making the difference to get Seven over the line. Nine won along the east coast with Seven ahead in Adelaide and Perth. 7Mate ranked second in Perth. Nine won 25-54 and 10 won 16-39.

The Ninjas and Farmers both suffered considerable drops from Sunday’s launch episodes – Ninja Warrior was down 192,000 while Farmer Wants A Wife lost 154,000. 10’s Bachelor in Paradise was up slightly to a high for this season.

In 25-54 Ninjas ranked 2nd, with HYBPA 2nd while Bach In Paradise was 6th and Farmers 7th. In 16-39 Farmer ranked 9th.

At just under 600,000 Have You Been Paying Attention recorded its lowest audience of the year while 9-1-1 Lone Star got off to a good start

Big audiences for Seven News and Nine News in Melbourne, although the fall for Nine News across the hour was bewildering to say the least.
Not sure why Ninja Warrior, Farmer and HYBPA posted big drops.

Looking like Farmer will be one of those shows on 7 that does OK on TP, but is nowhere in the demos

Ah, forgot about that! :joy: Saw the nearly 5% share for 7mate and thought 'hang on, yeah the movie “Red” did fairly well and a long run time, but that wouldn’t draw that high surely, considering massive ~200k for NCIS, etc on Bold.

So basically like most of Sevens schedule :joy:

In Perth the AFL ranked 4th with Farmer 8th, HYBPA 14th, Ninjas 15th, Bachelor 18th.

In the 5 cities, outside the top 20 included

The return of Bold and the Beautiful did better than repeats but was down on pre-virus episodes.

Me thinks there’s something not right about a number of Seven’s shows (other than that quality seems to be a bit on the weaker side). Their shows do well on Sunday after the news but falls flat during the week following Home and Away. Australia’s Got Talent and now Farmer wants a Wife are both examples of this. Quite well on Sunday but underwhelming on Monday/Tuesday.

Worth noting

BETWEEN TWO WORLDS Seven 419,000
9-1-1: LONE STAR Seven 453,000

9-1-1 also rated considerably better in the key demos. In 25-54 it had 60% higher audience in 16-39 it had 95% more watching. And 9-1-1 had a lead in that was 150k lower.

Which begs the question if Home and Away is the weak link. People (younger viewers) are leaving after the news and not coming back…

Wow!

Bachelor in Paradise didn’t do too badly. Not a great total viewer figure but its only 300k behind Ninja in total people.

Farmer is doing a lot better than I thought it would. But its demos aren’t great.

Have you been paying attention struggled without a decent lead in. Normally the number 1 of the week in the 8:30 slot, it will probably be beaten by The Weekly this week.

Regarding 9-1-1 beating Between Two Worlds. This is an awful sign. We want to invest, as a nation, in Australian drama. 10 million is what it apparently cost to make this, and it has created lots of Australian jobs and showcases great Australian talent. Unfortunately it probably won’t be consumed the way other shows are. I just wonder if a network can look at splitting the costs with a streaming services. For example 10 and CBS All Access. 9 and Stan. And perhaps 7 can look at doing the same with Netflix.

Apparently Farmer is more popular in regional areas than Ninja Warrior, propping up the numbers.

Which is the case for nearly everything on Seven. Big Brother was an exception - not particularly liked in regional areas.

Seven News Brisbane managed a win here it seems over Nine for both 6:00 and 6:30.

They should. I would hate to see Australian drama like Between Two Worlds evaporate due to poor linear ratings. It could do well on Netflix and since Seven have a nice relationship with them they should work together on Australian drama in the future.

I think it’d be worthwhile for all three Australian commercial networks to make “terrestrial TV (and online catch-up of it) first, full streaming later” deals between Netflix or one of the other streaming services for drama and scripted content.
