10 scores big with its best Monday share of the year number one in Sydney and Brisbane and number two overall. The Masked Singer number one for the night with HYBPA also doing well.

Seven wins thanks to huge Brownlow numbers in Melbourne. Last year it had 866,000 with the Red Carpet down on 633,000 in 2018 – possibly watching 10 for the first hour of Brownlow coverage.

The Block takes a bit of a tumble and This Time Next Year with a season low.

Huge ratings for The Masked Singer, props to 10 for taking a gamble on it. Let’s see how it holds up tonight and over the coming weeks.

Great start for The Masked Singer. Could well be 10’s highest rating show all year. Remarkably it beat the latter stages of the Brownlow in Perth (due to time difference) when Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe was on track to claim his second best and fairest award.
HYBPA dipped from last week as some viewers might have switched to the Brownlow instead.
Last year Seven had primary share of 27.1% and network share of 35.8%. The Brownlow Medal audience in Melbourne was slightly higher than last year’s 544,000.
On the Brownlow night last year The Block had 962,000 so that is a huge drop.

HYBPA was only 2,000 less than last Monday in preliminary numbers.
This Time Next Year took the biggest hit, down 150,000.

10 would be absolutely stoked!
Wonder if the numbers will hold.

Huge launch for The Masked Singer. It’ll be interesting to see if it goes up tonight without the Brownlow as competition.

Seven will be in trouble next week launching their second rate reality show against it.

I think the season finale is next Monday. Love Island starts the week after.

Big increase for Nine News Sydney in the second half hour. Viewers must be loving Amber at the moment…

Wow. Massive launch for the Masked Singer especially considering it was up against The Brownlow. I am expecting it to gain momentum tonight and possibly even top that. Even if some viewers drop off it could easily pick up a few that were watching the brownlow. The show def has the water cooler talk going today,

Without the Brownlow, I am guessing Seven would have come third.

Well done to Ten.

Seven News Melbourne had its best audience for the second half hour in a while. No.3 program in the city behind the Brownlow Medal count and the red carpet.

The increase in viewers for the second half Nine News Sydney could be attributed to interest in finals football.

Nine got hit hard by a resurgent TEN, placing 10 to 2nd thanks to The Masked Singer, HYBPA and achieved all 3 demos. Brownlow Medal was slightly down from last year’s count with Fremantle’s player Nathan Fyfe guaranteeing the Brownlow Medal for 2019 though Seven still won the night.

With Bride and Prejudice coming, it would be interesting to see how well Seven maintains its ratings momentum. 10 could be on the way up thanks to a strong lineup.

According to 10, 10’s biggest launch since I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015.

10 have confirmed the ratings in adjusted numbers.

Outside the top 20, The Latest ranked 22nd in preliminary numbers with Q&A 27th and Carl Barron comedy 29th. Highway Patrol at 7.30 in Sydney and Brisbane saw Seven rank 3rd in those cities.

Fantastic result for the Masked Singer. Audiences are craving something new and difference after being fed the same formats for years.

Well done to Ten on a rare showing of effective programming and strategy.

I think we have slammed 10 in the past for not promoting shows enough. Do you reckon they should do similar advertising for all their shows in their lineup moving forward

They need to promote other shows too. Not concentrate so hard on one show.

They have new episodes of Bondi Rescue coming up but I’ve only seen one promo for that and about 50 million for The Masked Singer. They should be promoting Bondi Rescue and all their other shows hard too.

Last night I saw a promo for Wednesday’s Bondi Rescue on two occasions, but no promo for Jamie Oliver’s Ultimate Veg which debuts this Thursday.

Good results for last night’s premiere of The Masked Singer.

As much as I personally don’t care for either format, hopefully this is the long awaited “Block killing” program that Australian TV needs.

I highly doubt Seven would’ve gone to the trouble of producing/airing “David Brown Returns” promos (the first time a returning weather presenter in the Sydney market has been promoted since…well, probably forever) if he didn’t have at least some impact on their ratings though.

I agree. Ten’s strategy seems to be an odd one - promote some programs absolutely everywhere and give others very little at all.
