Monday produced one of the closest ratings contests of the year with just 5 points separating 4 network shares and less than 2 points separating the top 4 main channels.

Seven came out on top – main channel by just 0.1 and network by 2 over second-place Nine while 10 just pipped ABC in network share while ABC’s main channel was 0.1 ahead of 10.

Seven, 10 and ABC improved on last Monday while Nine lost 5 from the previous week that featured the LEGO Masters Grand Final.

Ratings for news and current affairs were up post-election with ABC’s line-up a beneficiary. That followed The Case posting its highest 2022 rating at 5.30pm.

At 7.30pm ABC won with 7.30 and Australian Story. MasterChef ranked second well clear of Celebrity Apprentice that was down 37,000 from Sunday’s season premiere. Meanwhile Big Brother posted a season low audience.

Laster, Have You Been Paying Attention? was an easy timeslot winner ahead of 4 Corners and Media Watch. Nine’s Million Dollar Murders premiered very low but was ahead of 9-1-1 on Seven.

In the key demos 10 was an easy winner on the night with The Project 7pm, MasterChef and HYBPA timeslot winners in all key demos. In 25-54 Big Brother ranked 11th while Celebrity Apprentice was 13th. In 16-39 Big Brother was 13th and Celebrity Apprentice 14th. Surprisingly ABC’s 7.30 outrated both Seven and Nine’s reality shows in the demos.

At breakfast News Breakfast had a rare win over second-placed Sunrise - the much promoted Maverick week not quite the attraction expected?

OzTAM’s report gave WorldWatch an N/A. Edit: Not available rather than 0%

Jeez BB and CA both DOA.

What does this mean? 0.0%?

ABC’s federal election coverage continued to have a glow-on effect, with 7.30 and News Breakfast winning their timeslots, and Four Corners doing well. Let’s see if this will extend to Q+A this Thursday.

Million Dollar Murders also DOA.

I think it means not available (not recorded) as that is also given in the 7day consolidated report when it wasn’t on air. If it was 0 it would say that - NITV has had those before.

Big switch off for Big Brother and Celebrity Apprentice.

Those dismal ratings for the three reality shows just highlight how big a juggernaut MAFS was

Seven would be rubbing their hands in glee seeing Celebrity Apprentice flop. Nine’s now on equal footing with them and Big Brother has a slight edge in the demos and BVOD which Seven will appreciate even though both shows are underperforming.

True entertainment prevails in HYBPA which is always good to see.

Mixed results across the markets yesterday with Nine doing well in Sydney for a win while Seven won the othermarkets. 10 was second in Perth and won all key demos - main channel and network. Nine was second in the demos.

Bad ratings for Celebrity Apprentice and Big Brother, however the former won against the other reality shows in Sydney. MasterChef won Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth while Big Brother didn’t win any cities.

7.30’s best figures in a while, particularly in Melbourne.
