Monday night AFL helped Seven to a win in network shares, though Nine’s main channel was narrowly number one.

The Block was up almost 100k compared to the previous Monday, even outrating the AFL in Melbourne. For 10, with no reality lead in the 200th Have You Been Paying attention hit a season low. Some of 10’s viewers seem to have switch to 10 Bold for the night with it recording its highest Monday audience of the survey.

Not surprisingly, the AFL was the most-watched program in Adelaide.
HYBPA’s figures could have been higher if The Masked Singer grand final was shown last night instead of last Monday. Poor timing by 10.
The much promoted episode of The Block did well and narrowly beat the AFL in Melbourne.

AFL did very well on 7mate in Brisbane with no local teams playing. Most likely because the outcome of the match affected the Lions finals outcome/ draw

AFL was also airing for 15min before The Block started and for about 40min after The Block finished.

How is it “poor timing”? They had timeslots they needed to fill in precious weeks.

Drunk History did well to retain some viewers from HYBPA? Quiet achievement from 10.

MOD EDIT: Quotes ratings info outside the top 20.

Family Feud is all kinds of atrocious. Even Drunk History at 10pm rated higher for 10 than their prime-time lead.

And do what instead last Monday? The show had to wind up they couldn’t just extend it. It has had enough to contend with

There’s no chance of that being renewed after this season finishes. But knowing that Bev is in charge it wouldn’t surprise me if it is.

Last Monday could have been the behind the scenes special of The Masked Singer, followed by the grand final last night. Or, the whole season of The Masked Singer could have started one week later by showing less episodes of Bachelor in Paradise each week. (10 aired two episodes of BIP in weeks 1 and 2, and four episodes in weeks 3 and 4, before the finale)

Given covid there’s probably been a lot of moving targets across production on all shows. They probably didn’t have the luxury to plan the franchises all to fit in nicely. Masked Singer was lucky to wind up at all given it’s circumstances. There was no guarantee it would get to host a final at all and they still had the juggle a schedule around it.

The centralisation of 10 News has had a positive impact in Perth, minimal change in Brisbane while Adelaide and Sydney ratings are in free fall. Sydney is the big surprise as the bulletin is basically the same bar weather.

Looks like Seven’s split schedule in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth flopped again then @TV.Cynic? Wouldn’t be surprised if AFL on 7mate in Perth outrated the main channel.

This claim suggests the AFL easily trailed The Block between 7:30pm and 8:50pm?

Goes to show what a huge drawcard Tim Bailey actually was. Even my sister (who rarely talks about TV) was having a conversation about him with my parents over the weekend. They all said he was a big reason they tuned into Ten every afternoon and the new guy is just so bland now.

They should move HYBPA to 7.30 and air Drunk History at 8.30 followed by reruns of Kinne or something.

Not in Perth - 7Mate did not make double figures

Huge improvement on POO.

Close call between Seven and Nine News Sydney at 6:00, however this changed dramatically towards the last half hour, with Nine Sydney beating Seven as usual.
