#2

Kate v Meghan documentary pulled more viewers than Murphy Brown in the same timeslot last week.
Another lopsided BBL match hurt Seven.
Tennis continued to dominate although the audience was well down from Sunday.

#3

A drop for the Australian Open last night too. Makes a big difference who is playing.

I hope this utter rubbish is not an indication of future programming.

#4

I’m a Celebrity growing from Sunday and doing well. I think it will hover around the 700K mark for most of the season which is still excellent considering it’s non-ratings and there’s still competition from the AU Open.

I’ll spare everyone an encore of what I said in regards about Seven, since this is probably a continous trend that will last for a while.

#5

As long as people’s fascination with the duchesses continue, there will be more of these documentaries coming to Australian TV in the future.

#6

Does Nine care about losing Adelaide and Perth news all the time? Have they done anything to address it or does it not matter that much to them?

#7

Nine’s headline tennis numbers are lower than the same night last year but the network share is higher than Seven’s thanks to higher late night viewing.

Ten is getting more viewers and a higher share of the audience with I’m A Celebrity compared to Big Bash last year on this day.

#8

I find it amazing that these so called people providing commentary about the royal family as if they actually know them or they are the confidante of the royal family.

#9

As a non-sports viewer, I am glad that Ten is showing the Celebrity show. And I generally do not watch Ten that much. Last night, I actually watched Ten from 7:30pm right until Murphy Brown.

#10

Celebrity almost beat the tennis in total people and won 18-49 and 25-54 in week two of the tennis.
And The Bash collapses further!
This is a game-changer in television folks… Barty tonight will take viewers no doubt but no denying the power of Celebrity as the perfect counter programming move against live sport and significantly cheaper.
Bravo TEN for taken the bold move

#11

So maybe Big Bash was all hot air, after all? Could the networks be paying too much for sport. This may be UnAustralian, but there are many people who aren’t big on sport.

#12

Nine won the 3 key demo groups with Ten second. In total people Seven again won in Perth but was third in Sydney and Brisbane.

Sunrise won by approx 45,000 ahead in all markets except Brisbane that was a tie.

#13

Get me outta here has tended to do well in Sydney & Brisbane. It’s later in the year that Ten falters there. Masterchef struggles in Brisbane & the Project sinks when ACA is around. Ten’s drama then struggle to gain traction.

#14

Which do you reckon is cheaper? Cricket or celeb?

#15

I’m a Celeb (the show Ten promoted heavily last year) is out-rating the Big Bash each night.

#16

Yeah, Nine would have been disappointed that Federer got knocked out because he could have given a few more nights of strong ratings. Having said that, Djokovic & Nadal are still in and both have big fan bases so they should be okay

#17

I’m A Celeb outrated the Big Bash last year too.

#18

And Ash Barty, an aussie!

#19

Serena Williams also pulls big numbers. If Ash Barty can win tonight and go one better and make it to the final on Saturday night, Nine execs won’t be able to wipe the smiles off their faces. The last time an Australian reached the final of the Australian Open in 2005, over 4 million people watched and Seven launched Desperate Housewives the following night to 2.5 million viewers. Momentum is everything at this time of year.

#20

That was 2005 and a Men’s final… This is 2019 and a Women’s quarter final (one step for Ash at a time).

But I get where you’re going. First Aussie woman in a quarter in a decade and if she wins tonight she’ll be the first aussie woman to make a semi in over 3 decades!
