Seven is propped up 3 main aspects
- Sport (football/cricket)
- recycling / copying other networks shows
- Perthâs inability to realise that tvâs can change channel
If you take any one of those 3 aspects away, Seven looks pretty bare boned.

But hey the could run NCIS and Bull repeats like the other network.
All of which appeal to pretty much nobody under 40.
They might not have a news service that some of you seem to want but with other programming, in particular, reality, at least they try new ideas. 7 in particular havenât got an idea!
In fairness they have tried new stuff, just that the formats they chose (and will choose) either was executed badly (Holey Moley) or appeals to no one (Ultimate Tag, Blow Up). It would be wrong to say they havenât tried but they failed at it.
Whilst itâs frustrating that they donât try new stuff and keep recycling, perhaps they got cold feet after the flops that they had. They need to find new formats that captivates the audience, like Hunted on 10.
Though I must say, even though they had alternate programming at least 10 had multichannel coverage and Bold was the second highest-rated multichannel so there does appear to be some interest that was catered for by Bold. The way itâs been portrayed youâd be forgiven if you thought 10 didnât air the funeral at all.

No surprise to see HYBPA and The Amazing Race top the catch up viewing from last Monday.
I was one of 17,000 viewers who taped Sevenâs coverage of the Queenâs funeral (all seven hours of it). I caught up with the funeral service at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, then the procession and the commital service at Windsor Castle on Friday.
That wouldnât have been much fun.
I laughed at Timâs comment last night on HYBPA? that suggested there was a âWinnerâs Announcementâ coding for the funeral - given how many other codings there were.
