Nine came out on top on Monday up slightly to a 30% network share, two ahead of Seven that also improved slightly. SBC and SBS were also up leaving 10 as the only network to fall – down 2 from last Monday. That was thanks to another poor result for 10’s The Traitors that didn’t improve on its Sunday audience and landed in 23rd place even with Sunday’s number.

Nine won the 25-54 demo while 10 won 16-39.

For Nine, The Block was a beneficiary, up 30k week-on-week with Under Investigation that followed steady, though this week in the top 20. Over on Seven, Australia’s Got Talent was down 15k to a season low.

As both The Block and AGT were down on Sunday’s numbers The Traitors did manage a higher audience share. In 25-54 AGT was 11th and Traitors 12th.

Have You Been Paying Attention? was 10’s best offering by far, an easy timeslot winner, though down 40k from last week. Ghosts’ second season premiere did well to rank 21st.

Meanwhile Australian Story, Four Corners and Media Watch were on par of ABC for a Monday night.

Earlier, Seven News had a big win over 100k ahead of Nine’s bulletin winning across the hour in all markets.

Thank goodness for HYBPA. It saved 10’s night.
As for The Traitors - we can now add this to the flops of the year list.

At least The Traitors held its audience from Sunday’s debut. We will have to wait until next week if it can get any boost in timeshifting and BVOD.

The T20 World Cup warmup match (Australia v India) at an empty Gabba outrated both group matches at the tournament down in Hobart.

Nine News Sydney falling due to no Peter Overton

Really disappointed to see The Traitors ratings. It’s one of the better reality shows we’ve had in a while IMO. Good on Ten for at least trying something new.

At breakfast, Sunrise was 35k ahead of Today that was 10k ahead of News Breakfast. Today’s win in Brisbane was so large it helped the show to win the east coast.

Agreed. The pacing of Sunday’s episode bothered me but I thought last night was a lot better given it was shorter. If they can trim the runtime to 70 minutes for all episodes I’ll keep watching.

At least The Traitors retained pretty much all of it’s viewers from Sunday night. That’s something. Some shows also take a while to grow, especially on 10, a good example of this is how low HYBPA rated when it first started.

Even the demos are shocking for the traitors. In its defence going up against the biggest reality show on tv isn’t easy for a new show. Especially when that show is coming to the season end.

How long can you give a show that is 12 episodes time to grow?

HYBPA was only 8 eps long for it’s first season and dropped under 200k quite a few times in it’s 1st and 2nd seasons and there’s very likely nothing else that 10 could replace it with currently that would rate any better (which says a lot about 10’s current state).

Although it is a bad look that an import in a later slot did better than The Traitors in the 25-54 demo.

I thought MAFS was the biggest? Do we excuse every failure on Nine or Seven having a higher rating reality show against it? So new reality show has any chance against them?

No I am just trying to hide from the 10 fan boys so had to look at a positive.

Agree, and on a room reveal night too with very few people watching anything else on 10 to give it exposure. Bad scheduling.

I don’t think we excuse anything but it’s in every networks best interest to choose a time and place to debut new shows, especially now with less FTA viewers. Once they grab an audience, then move them to compete with the bigger shows.

I might be incorrect but didn’t MAFS debut away from MKR (and also didn’t start with mazing numbers it eventually grew to) and once it had an audience it was put head to head with MKR and eventually killed it?

Just having Nat and Kochie saying “good morning Qld” at 6.00 and 7.00 won’t win any extra ratings, as the viewers aren’t watching anyway.
Needs proper Qld-specific promos.
Already plenty of Qld content, but it doesn’t get promoted in the Qld market the day/night before .
