The Data may not be reproduced, published or communicated (electronically or in hard copy) in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of OzTAM. “Overnight” figures include “Live” (programs broadcast during the 2am-2am broadcast day) and “As Live” (programs recorded and then watched within the same broadcast day). “Consolidated” figures include Live, As Live and “Time Shift” (programs recorded and then watched within seven days of the initial broadcast).

ABC’s current affairs and factual line-up lifted by 2 share points from last Monday. Nine and 10 were steady week-on-week but Seven’s modified line-up lost ground. Nine won its nineth straight Monday leading in all markets except Perth that was won by Seven. Nine also won the key demographic groups with 10 second well clear of Seven.

Many news and current affairs program recorded season high numbers including Sven News, Nine News, ABC News, 10 News First, 7.30, A Current Affair, The Project. Nine’s 9pm news special rated well and easily won its timeslot easily beating Seven News The Latest. 10 News First 6pm recorded a record high as well.

Married at First Sight and Survivor were steady from last Monday while My Kitchen Rules lost audience and just made the top 20.

Neighbours topped the demos in multichannels. That saw 10 Peach as the number one multichannel in the three key demos.

High ratings all around for news. Big jump for Australian Survivor.
I can’t remember the last time 10 News First hit above 500k.
Did the Nine News special start on time? If so, it shows what a good lead in can do.

Really solid ratings for Survivor.

Who would have thought The Project would consistently rate higher than MKR?

Mixed results for ABC’s current affairs line-up: 7.30 posted its biggest audience for 2020, Australian Story and Q&A up from last week, while Four Corners and Media Watch fell.
The Neighbours 35th anniversary episodes did very well on 10Peach.

Interesting that 9 News in Adelaide performed quite strongly comparatively to 7 News there. Also The Project beat Home & Away which I don’t think has happened before?

10 News First rating higher than MKR, who would’ve thought? Heck, 19 other programs rather higher than that trash last night.

Lots of viewers tuning into news last night; possibly a lot of people in isolation from yesterday with not much else to do and looking for info / updates etc.

Survivor edging closer to MAFS in the demos, good to see.

Outside the top 20 were

21 The Project 6.30pm with a 2020 high
22 The Chase 5pm
23 The Latest - it rated about 1/2 of the audience of Nine’s News special. In key demos it was beaten by Nine News, Hughesy and Four Corners.
24 10 News First 6pm - about 40k higher than its previous highest audience
25 Sunrise - second highest for the year
26 Seven News at 4.30
27 Hot Seat 5pm
28 Seven News 4pm
29 Hughesy
30 ABC Late News
31 Today - 3rd highest for year

From Nine:

  • Nine News hits highest audience of 2020
  • ACA achieves highest audience of 2020

NINE NEWS SPECIAL: COVID-19

  • Timeslot winner across the 5 City and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

From 10

The Project 7pm:*** **Biggest audience since June 2018.
6.30pm: Biggest audience since June 2018.

10 News First:** **Biggest audience since July 2017.
10 News First 6pm: Biggest audience ever.

The Latest suffering from a very poor lead in.

That’s what happens when you screw around a (now moderately) successful format.

As a result it leads to the programs following them to suffer even lower ratings. The Latest for example, is the primary victim of MKR being a turkey.

Biggest ratings in a long time.

It’s happened quite a few times, and home and away used to take the lead back with consolidated, but with its online viewers at100k, it’s consolidated has dropped off a lot.

Strong figures for the return of Footy Classified. More than double the ratings of its Rugby League equivalent, 100% Footy.

Bound to happen with the AFL season still up in the air.
