Another good result for Seven with a +31% share. Not so good for Nine though with its worst Monday result outside the Olympic weeks this year. 10 was not far behind Nine while ABC got a boost.

The Voice was a winner again at 7.30 even with last week while Survivor surged up 115,000 week-on-week. That saw The Block slip to a season low to land in third place.

Later Have You Been Paying Attention blitzed the competition to also land over 700k for the first time in 4 weeks.

The 60th anniversary 4 Corners managed 516,000 just below the lead in and lead out.

Nine News was back to number one at 6pm along the east coast as news numbers remained high.

Seven will be hoping that The Voice’ momentum continues past the blind auditions, because those figures are pretty impressive for this day and age (even with the fact that two major cities are still in lockdown.

Nice to see HYBPA rise after a few weeks of languishing in the 500-600K mark. Survivor is also impressive. The Block is still disappointing but Nine will be relieved that it didn’t drop too much from last week. They wouldn’t want the show to drop even further though.

Pretty concerning for The Block…

I expect a location change is most definitely on the cards now

THe Voice continued to score over 1 million metro viewers and doing well in the demos.
The Project saw a 2021 high of 559k metro viewers.
Nine News was Number 1 program of the night in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Concerning for The Block to be easily 3rd in its slot and roughly half the audience of The Voice - especially with lockdown in so many places around the country.

They can go anywhere they like but for as long as they continue with all this manufactured drama crap, minimal renovation, gimmicks such as ‘challenges’ and nauseating product placement that even blind Freddie can figure out then it will be like putting lipstick on a pig.

Fourth best result this year - last Monday was 567,000.

I turned on The Block briefly on Sunday night, just in time to see them fawning over the twins in slow motion with Barry White music playing in the background. That was enough for me and I went back to The Voice.

From the parts I’ve seen this season (mainly from channel surfing) so much of the focus are on Ronnie and Georgia and Mitch and Mark. Seriously who gives a stuff about these so-called ‘faves’? They’re all a bunch of entitled maniacs who is crying out to be heard.

The Voice by contrast is much more enlightening and positive. Survivor has always been an intense and exciting game with some great moments which is expected for this format.

Big numbers for both Seven News and Nine News in Melbourne (after the Victorian Government announced the current lockdown would be extended to at least September 2), but the drop-off in the second half for Nine News saw its rival winning the hour.

Seven News retained its audience in Adelaide and Perth over the hour.

Surely Nine now has to be wondering whether they got rid of the wrong reality show last year?!

Mind you, there is something rather satisfying about seeing The Block finally struggle after Nine benefited from several seasons of Seven/Ten having virtually no effective competition.

Agreed. While they most likely won’t, Nine should give The Block a rest for a little while after this season.

I don’t know that The Block is particularly worse as far as lacking in renovations and focussing on challenges compared to previous years. That seems to have been a winning formula for several seasons. I think the audience has been waiting to drop the show and this year they have got an alternative they like. I also think they got the casting wrong this season.

I think those sponsors in Mitre 10 and McDonald’s would have something to say about that…

With the way The Block is going right now it’s almost as if informercials have infiltrated primetime TV these days.

Glad that Seven and 10 aren’t giving up and are giving The Block a good run for its money nowadays. That informercial…I mean show has been dominant for too long. The show might be a world of pain if The Voice and Survivor continues to dominate and the likes of SAS and Masked Singer get some resurgence as a result of this.

Very pleased to see Survivor surging - really into the show this season - have really only been a casual view in seasons past. HYBPA just Mr Consistent and one of the most successful and stable shows on Commercial FTA.

Surprised that the Voice has held well, credit to Seven for the promotion and sustained audience post-launch, I’ve personally never seen the appeal in The Voice both when it was on Nine and Seven but good for them.

Not much to say about the Block really languishing in both total people and demos - out of the top 5 in both 25-54 and 18-49 and just scraping into 16-39, thought it would be performing well this year given the boom in renovations etc given many spending alot more time at home etc… also not a show I’ve seen the appeal in as a stripped format, I watched it when I was younger when Jamie Durie was involved and loved it then, but when it returned in a stripped format it has always to me, felt like a drawn out, padded show with too much filler and not enough action/renovation.

I might be in the minority but I have actually enjoyed the block. And I really like the two fans. I never watched Mitch and marks season but I have loved watching them so far. I just wish they had gone for 5 favourites

The Block isn’t getting terrible numbers yet. But the numbers are certainly down from previous seasons. Maybe if they show less “fighting” on the ads, and focus more on the renos or somehow give it another spin, more may tune in?

The Voice is killing it atm. All the Blind Audition episodes have rated over a million. Will be interesting to see if it drops when the “semis” are on, like previous years, or the momentum will continue?

For Media Watch on the ABC, it is listed as “LE” (Late Evening) instead of the usual “Ev” (Evening), due to Four Corners finishing 15 minutes later due to its Special. Its not often that the ABC do stuff like this, to my knowledge.

Pretty sure this is not correct. I’ve seen higher, unless it’s been adjusted.

Edit:yep I noticed @TV.Cynic corrected this statement.

The Voice continues to build from its lead-in (not just Home and Away but Seven News in some markets too), compared to the opposite happening with The Block out of ACA and Nine News. That would be concerning, in the case of Melbourne the past two nights about half the audience of Nine News to The Block.

I think Cynic noted this point last week too.
