Farmer Wants A Wife scored another good result for Seven to win the competitive 7.30pm timeslot with 915k. That compared to the previous Monday when the new season launched to 972k at 7pm. Earlier, Home and Away was back this Monday with 1.048m to be the top entertainment show of the night with its second-highest rating of the year.

MasterChef’s sweet week continued to be popular as well with another elimination episode averaging 744k, up 40k from last week to a season-high. Nine’s Shark! with one episode to go had 439k, a season low, after being pre-empted last Monday. ABC’s 7.30 was competitive with 810k while Australian Story at 8pm was up 50k to 619k.

Have You Been Paying Attention? later was up 70k to 777k, a 5-week high, to lead Four Corners with 491k.
The Rookie season eight’s second episode had 462k for Seven. Nine’s twin football shows 100% Footy and Footy Classified missed the top 30

Also on ABC, Media Watch improved this week 538k with Planet America on 487k. 10’s Late News also made a top 30 appearance with 281k.

Coverage of the FIFA World Cup continued on SBS, though outside of primetime. Results that made the top 30 included Netherlands 2-2 draw with Japan from 5:30 AM with 442k; Cote d’Ivoire’s 1-0 win over Ecuador in the 8:30 AM timeslot with 392k and Sweden’s 5-1 win over Tunisia later at 11:30 AM with 487k.

Seven News was Monday’s top program with 1.588m while Nine News had 1.377m at 6pm. At 5pm Tipping Point with 859k was just 30k ahead of The Chase that hit a three-year high of 827k .

At 7pm, A Current Affair with 1.09m was the number one program. ABC News with 943k was behind Home and Away while Millionaire Hot Seat had 347k

Breakfast TV included another big result for Sunrise (433k) well clear of Today (296k) and News Breakfast (228k).

The rookie last week had 458k. So this week was up by 4k. The show ended up with 811k after 7 days. So looks like it will again be top 3 on 7+ for most stream show this year

  • 9News was the No. 1 program of the night with Total People and all key demographics across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 2.165 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.377 million. On 9Now, its BVOD audience of 236,000 was up 62.8% year-on-year.

  • A Current Affair dominated the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 1.609 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.090 million. On 9Now, it recorded a BVOD audience of 169,000, up 59.4% on the same night last year.

  • SHARK! Dominated primetime viewing with People 16-39 in Brisbane. Regional was nuts for Chase last night. Did well in 5 cities also but not enough to take out any individual cities, but with regional, closed that gap massively. It’s had a switch on workout necessarily stealing any viewers from Tipping Point

Pretty good numbers for Farmer Wants a Wife. Some good numbers for MasterChef and HYBPA also

The World Cup still dominating the daytime slots. A shame that numbers for primetime for SBS (and Viceland) seem unaffected, going by the shares table, which is a shame. They should have more ads promoting their night programs.

But Sunrise and Today surprisingly seem to still be rating their usual self, and not affected by the Soccer.
