Seven secured its highest Monday share of 2022 up 2 points from last Monday. Nine suffered a 3 point drop week-on-week with 10, ABC and SBS showing small increases.

Seven’s prime time got off to a good start with The Chase DWTS Celebrity special winning its timeslot. However, the episode ratings were lower than the previous Monday’s numbers.

At 6pm Seven News won all markets except Brisbane. Nine News Adelaide was notable for posting its highest rating since September 2021. At 7pm Home and Away was down on its usual results while the Olympics delivered again across the rest of the night.

In the morning the Super Bowl made the top 20. That was up on last year when there was split coding and the half time show managed 319,000 with the game on 283,000.

Over on Nine, Married At First Sight’s first Intimacy Week episode was down almost 150,000 from the previous Monday. Interest in “Australian TV’s biggest mystery” and “what’s in the hole” (see Nine promo) waned and La Brea missed the top 20, down 160k from the debut episode.

For 10, Survivor was even with the previous week while The Project just made the top 20.

ABC again saw Four Corners miss the top 20 down 50,000 from last week. Back Roads and Media Watch were the network’s best results after 7pm.

Seven’s coverage of women’s aerials at the Winter Olympics delivered a big win for the network.

391,000 is one of the highest FTA audiences for the Super Bowl in Australia in recent years. The pay TV ratings for the Super Bowl was level with last year.

But as seen in last week’s consolidated figures, it will get a big boost through online catch-up and timeshifted viewing.

Great to see Neighbours again top the multi channels.

Survivor really is performing poorly. Yes it does well in the demos compared to other shows, but I was looking at the demos last season and on average in the three categories, they are each down about 100,000 viewers.

All Stars started in the Summer of 2020 and whilst it didn’t do as well as the other Winter editions it still had healthy demos across the three categories and much higher than the current season.

Most of the current H&A storylines are fairly dull so the low figures are understandable. They’ve got some good cast/characters but they need better storylines to keep viewers interested. I know the covid lockdown last year greatly impacted the show, but it will be great to see some of the long term characters return over the next month or two.

Great to see a bit of a lift for Neighbours.

Politics destroyed 4 corners last night. Nobody is interested.

Yeah below 500k is not what Ten would be wanting. I’ve actually kind checked out of this season now that Sandra has gone. I’m not really feeling it.

Highest since 2016 that had 403,000.

  • #2 in its timeslot in 25 to 54s.

The Super Bowl did well for Seven for the timeslot. Glad they coded the game as one - and didn’t split the game into the “Game” and "Half Time Entertainment’ like in previous years.

Home and Away seemed to be on the low side last night. While Nine’s La Brea is now out of the top 20. Not a good show.

Good numbers for the Super Bowl on 7 and ESPN in a daytime slot

Neighbours tops multichannels and highest ratings this year I believe.

It’s why US dramas shouldn’t be on before 10 pm. La Brea will still get the BVOD and consolidated ratings increase but not hurt Nine’s share as much if it’s on later.

They were probably hoping the fact that it was filmed in Victoria might boost ratings. I enjoyed the first episode enough but not a lot happened in the second episode, so I pretty much lost interest within the first 30 minutes. I might come back but I might not too.

OzTAM listed the game description as “Rams at Bengals” despite the fact the game was clearly played at the Rams’ home stadium in Los Angeles. Boy, I hope somebody got fired for that blunder

La Brea’s figures were still strong. Anything above 300K is acceptable for an 8.30pm/9.00pm US drama in 2022. Also the consolidated ratings for its first episode (9 broadcast + timeshift + 9Now VOD) are now up to almost 1 million, so it can be classified as a hit.

And if you bump La Brea an hour later to 10pm, what do you run at 9pm which is going to rate better? Kath and Kim repeats?

That’s technically correct. The AFC champion were the ‘home’ team this year.

Don’t the networks do the codings though?
