The first Monday after the Easter rating “break” and Nine’s network share was over one third of the audience, up 2 from the last ratings period Monday. Seven’s new line-up saw no change with 10 down 1 and ABC losing +2 share points.

After debuting Sunday to 744,000, Seven’s Dancing With The Stars followed a familiar pattern to many of the network’s recent reality launches losing a big share of its audience for the second episode – down 186,000. It also crashed out of demo contention, beaten by ACA and The Project.

Over on Nine, Married At First Sight lost some audience but still easily dominated. Law and Order Organized Crime got off to a modest start with 414,000.

10’s filler line-up failed to impress post 7.30 though the network ranked second in the three key demos. Meanwhile, ABC’s factuals were all well down on recent numbers.

Big drop for DWTS but expected considering most of Seven’s shows peak on Sundays and fall back when Home and Away becomes the lead in during the week.

Not surprised that MAFS did well and 10 failed again.

Nice try 10, maybe you can hold your head up high knowing while 7 doubled your audience, it came at an expensive cost to them.

The corresponding episode of MAFS last year did 1.161 million. I reckon the ratings for the reunion episodes on Wednesday and Sunday will be 5-10% lower than 2020.

But it rated higher than many episodes of SVU on 10.

I don’t think you can totally blame the lead in for DWTS’s numbers - as it rated less than Home and Away in total people and all key demos.

Premiere episode and +1 million lead in would have helped.

I think the key difference is that on Sunday DWTS had a decent debut partially because Seven News (which did 1 million plus) was the lead in. Yesterday Home and Away only had around half that and DWTS dropped (still retaining most of the audience from H&A). Same deal with Australia’s Got Talent in 2019 where the Sunday episodes were mostly above 700-800K mark but Monday episodes were around the low 600K mark.

I think the lead in does play a role in some ways.

It definitely does, but if 800k were really invested, they would follow the show through. MAFS for example doesnt have huge drops with ACA compared to Sunday news.

Not disagreeing with that. DWTS just doesn’t have the same pull as MAFS or even MKR back in the day but as long as it’s doing better than some of what Seven has dished up in recent times then this one will get renewed. The core audience would be around 400-500K so expect them to stay. Others will probably drop in on Sunday and drop out during the week.

Having said that this show would benefit from airing in the middle of the year or towards the end.

Is it fair to say that 10 can stop thinking that if their show was on another network it would get larger ratings?

Is this the first time a Law & Order show has aired on Nine? (excluding re-reruns of old seasons)

Correct, it was also mentioned on MW this morning

Well 9Now is up from last year, so it could be viewers are switching from TV to streaming the show.

No, Nine showed Law & Order: True Crime: The Menendez Murders in October-November 2017.
