That is shocking. Take it off the air already.

A huge turnaround in ratings fortunes as Nine suffers a big drop without The Block ranking 4th in main channel shares. Seven had its best Monday share for 7 weeks and won all markets.

The Amazing Race and Bride and Prejudice posted seasons highs as RBT on Nine was 4th at 7.30pm.

Top entertainment show was Have You Been Paying Attention and ABC offerings posted good gains with Q&A making a rare appearance in the top 20. Just For Laughs again did well for 10. Love Island slumped to 17th in 25-54 and 10th in 16-39.

Good ratings for Seven News - number one in all markets; also good numbers for ABC News. Poor result for Nine considering the events of the day.

The Amazing Race, HYBPA and Bride and Prejudice all made solid gains without The Block.
No change to Seven News Perth’s ratings from last Monday, despite the introduction of a new desk which was ridiculed by many Media Spyers.

How and why? What even was on seven that they could register a win in main channels?

Let’s be honest, Perth 7news could have a massive :poop: on the desk and people would still watch.

It’s what happens when the product is so loved, nothing they do will change that until they lose trust.

Nine better pray that The Block will last for a few more years because without it, its schedule is looking just as lacklustre as Seven’s.

I know I’m confused as to why their main channel share was 5% above the competition… they won news but the rest of the lineup was below the comp… I assume news and late night shares were the reason.

Nine’s lineup with out The Block flopped hard. RBT was 472,000 and fourth in its timeslot.

They really need to start planning better and have The Block finish in the last week of ratings.

Maybe 7 should relaunch it as a stunt channel, air 24/7 The Simpsons for a week then something else. It’d grab attention and be something different.

Ugh, don’t say that…they’ll probably just extend it another four weeks and squeeze every last drop out of it!

Confused by that considering they have dominated the 7:30 timeslot from January until November…

My context was the last couple of weeks of November. I guess Nine can afford to lose a couple of weeks toward the end of ratings season.

I don’t think a few weeks is going to bother them when they have been so successful for the other 38 weeks +. And if The Block was to fade their recent success in launching new formats would be reassuring to them.

I know it might be a moot point for some people when it comes to winning total people but if the margin between Nine and Seven are really tight, a couple of weeks can make a difference. Looking at this year, it is close but maybe not close enough (if that makes sense).

They’ll probably extend Lego Masters (as it’s a proven hit now), so it has a knock on effect to other quarters to The Block can go through until late November/eaely December, especially as FFF was axed.

They can’t really do much with their other shows, maybe further extend Ninja?

Out of curiosity do you think the scheduling has more to do with when the best time to sell is rather than fitting into the ratings period? The show is always going to be better to sell to advertisers with more money made on the market.

Ideally, 9 would have shown 3 episodes of Hamish and Andy this week. That would have only left one week of ratings to worry about.

Definitely. Its lazy programming for sure. I don’t understand what happened to Hamish and Andy or surely they could have maybe done some sort of special for 2 weeks.

Lego Masters is like Ninja though in that you can only extend so much before it starts to drag out.

But the problem is if The Block finishes in late November it will be past the spring auction season, so the properties may not sell at high prices.
