Nine had another easy win despite dropping its share by 1 point from the previous Monday. Seven was up one while ABC, 10 and SBS were steady. Nine won in Brisbane by 12 points and Sydney by 6, and Melbourne by 5 as Seven took Adelaide and Perth by 3 and 2 points respectively.

However, Nine won all markets in the key demos where it was approx 11 points clear of second placed 10 in all three with Seven third.

However, Seven’s improved share was not due to a better result for My Kitchen Rules that dipped by almost 80,000 from the previous Monday.

Seven News was particularly dominant, however, for Seven with 9-1-1 up 70k. 7Flix repeat of the Oscars boosted that channels share.

Other key programs were Married At First Sight steady or Nine in preliminary numbers while Survivor was down just 20k.

The second episode of the new season of Q&A dropped 90,000.

MKR showing no signs of improvement. Survivor easily beats MKR (and Home and Away).

Neighbours is having a good run lately.

MAFS flexing its muscles now. Survivor down slightly from last week.
Embarrassing for MKR being outrated by its lead-out program.
Does the dip in Seven News Melbourne figures indicate viewers are not liking Jane Bunn’s new weather set up?

Seven’s Academy Award coverage was down 20k from Nine’s last year ranking 24th. Nine’s movie Pitch Perfect 3 ranked 22nd with Hughesy 27th.

Equivalent episodes last year was on Monday 4 Feb

Married: 1,126,000
MKR: 841,000
10 had Celebrity that night with 545,000

Hughesy is really not cutting it. 10 need to replace it next year. If it doesn’t work after 3 seasons it won’t build.

It often wins its demos which is what networks look at. Not sure why you would get rid of that.

But it started so late. The problem is that Survivor is too long and looking very bloated now.

Last night yes. But my claim is often if you go and have a look at last week you will see there are lots of nights it was number 1 in its timeslot in those demos. And what has the 6:30 portion got to do with the lead out to Survivor? You are specifically talking about giving Survivor a boost are you not? As for your claims about Sydney its still the 17th ranked show in Sydney and same in Perth. Not really a ‘drag’ as you are claiming.

Censorship

Well so you don’t think I am being ‘disingenuous’ you are completely wrong.

Censorship

How tragic for Seven to have their major tentpole show outrated by its lead-in and lead-out (which is an overseas import).

Survivor looks to be stable around the 550K-600K mark. Still better than what I’m a Celebrity achieved for them at this time last year, and Survivor has a pretty solid fanbase too so I can see that number stay consistent against MAFS.

Again it just shows that Nine (apart from 60 Minutes, Paramedics and Doctor Doctor) are resting on their laurels with post 8.30 slots and are sitting back relying on MAFS winning the night. Sadly seems to be working for them so we can expect more of these in future years.

No I get people have opinions that are different than mine. But I don’t agree with your opinion. If you have an opinion you have to be prepared that people are going to disagree with you.

There is actually a difference between an opinion and a statement of fact. You haven’t said I believe… You said:

This is not an opinion its a statement of fact. Which I said is completely wrong. So in short yes you are right an opinion cannot be ‘wrong’ but if you try and make facts these can be wrong.

Its not I am glad you understand.

Survivor typically does well in time-shifting. I don’t think theres any reason to even worry about it only getting around 600,000 overnight. The fact that it’s beating MKR and also still attracting a steady audience, coming 2nd in the demos and also making top 10 each night WHILST MAFS IS ON is a great achievement. TEN should be proud of their decision and their faith in the program is obvious now.

MAFS audience is almost double it’s competition. It’s already on the increase and it’s just kicking off.

But many other shows on Ten, including previous seasons of Survivor, rated better with that same lead in. So you can’t blame that. MAFS has definitely hurt it. Although personally I’m finding this season a bit of a drag so far and even find myself flciking to MAFS throughout the episodes.

The show is a bit boring. I want to like it but I can’t sit through an hour of it. I think it would be better as a 30min show and if it was a bit faster paced.

Its a forum. We are supposed to discuss. Don’t get so antsy if someone questions you. I hardly ever take your bait when you discuss the project endlessly so I don’t always ‘carp’ over your opinions.
