A week after the launch of the new season of Married At First Sight and Nine continues to blitz the competition with another +30% network share. That was up 2 from last week and saw 10 down slightly while Seven dropped 2; both networks recording their lowest Monday shares of 2021 so far. By contrast Nine and ABC recorded their best Mondays of the year so far.

Nine won four markets with Seven winning Perth.

For Nine, Married posted its first + 1 million audience of the season while Under Investigation that followed ranked sixth for the night on 755,000 an impressive result for 9pm (ish) ranking number two in key demos.

Seven’s Holey Moley final episode of the season, a kids special, slumped to just 319,000 metro viewers having overstayed its welcome. 10’s Amazing Race was down slightly from the previous Monday and up from Sunday’s result.

Australian Story’s episode featuring Jeannie Little was at a season high making the top 10 and up 60,000 week-on-week. Four Corners and Media Watch benefitted from the improved lead in.

Huge numbers for MAFS and Under Investigation.

Dismal numbers for Holey Moley finale and nearly out of the top 20!

Good start for Under Investigation, beating veteran Four Corners in the same timeslot. Will be an interesting battle between the two shows over the next five weeks (I hear Under Investigation has six episodes for the first season).

Holey Moley finished on a low.

Again showing Tv doesn’t have to finish at 9pm with investments for viewers.

The premiere of Under Investigation performed well in its 9pm timeslot, Beating 4 corners.
Holey moley finished at an all time low.

Huge night for MAFS. It had more than double the audience of The Amazing Race and more than triple the audience of Holey Moley!

Also good to see something post 9pm rate well too on 9. It just goes to show that good content with the right lead in can rate in later slots.

I mentioned elsewhere, but I don’t get why Holey Moley kids didn’t air Sunday with the earlier start.

UI should really have been a Seven show. Big gap in the offer there. Missed opportunity.

Clear trend what is working at 9/930

Really looks like Seven continues to misread the market.

They had an opportunity to put The Latest Sunday’s 9.30. They missed that one

They haven’t capitalized on Spotlight yet when it’s clear True Crime is a huge hit

The misfired with MKR and House Rules

Holey Moley was a huge flop

Between The Lines was a huge flop when Halifax was a big hit

To their credit Big Brother and SAS fired

At breakfast Sunrise posted its lowest audience of 2021 and the lowest since the Queen’s birthday Monday of 2020.

Edit:
That put it 30,000 ahead of second placed Today that was 1,000 ahead of News Breakfast. Today made gains in Melbourne and Perth while Sunrise maintained its lead in Sydney.

Post 9pm shows do work if the effort from the networks are given.

Am surprised that Seven didn’t code Holey Moley as the Junior Special, to make their normal version “look better”.

If we play drink a shot through the week everytime nine says dominant (or variation) our insides would be gone by Tuesday. It’s a fair call last night but learn a new word already.
