turdall, a bit surprising you’d dump This Is Us into a 11pm time slot. I thought you were a fan?

Long-time lurker, first-time poster.

Here is what I would do with ten in 2018. It is quite unrealistic regarding budget, but here it is none the less. I also wrote some little press release write-ups for each show. I initially did it for the new reality shows, but then I got carried away and wrote them for ten’s existing shows as well.

Ten 2018 Line-Up

6:00: Ten Early News (national bulletin with separate Perth bulletin)
7:00: Good Morning (Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane/Adelaide/Perth) - A new way to start your day. With all of the news and stories relevant to you and your city (modelled after local morning shows in the US). (Individual editions for each market).
9:00: Studio ten
12:00: Ten News at Midday (national bulletin with separate Perth bulletin)
1:00: Replay of Previous Night’s Flagship Realty

Daytime on ten
2:00: Ready Steady Cook/Cooking Shows hosted by ex-MC Contestant
3:00: Afternoons With Chrissie - A new afternoon talk show hosted by Chrissie Swan
4:00: Neighbours (replay of previous night’s episode from eleven )
4:30: Bold & Beautiful

5:00: Ten News at five (individual bulletins for each market)
6:00: The Project
Primetime on Ten - see nightly schedule below
10:00: Ten News at ten (individual bulletins for each market)
10:30: Late Show with Stephen Colbert
11:30: Late Late Show with James Corden
12:30: Late Programming

Primetime on ten

9:00: Drams (American or Local)

Monday - Monday Night Laughs!
7:00: Flagship Realty
8:00: Have you been paying attention?, Talking About Your Generation, etc
9:00: Graham Norton Show, Whose Line, Thank God You’re Here!, etc

Tuesday
7:00: Flagship Realty
8:00: Gogglebox/Common Sense
9:00: Shark Tank/Toad Sampson

Wednesday - Girls Night In!
7:00: Flagship Realty
8:00: Aus Female-Skewing Drama (e.g., Offspring, The Other Girl)
9:00: US Female-Skewing Drama (e.g., This Is Us, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Jane The Virgin)

Thursday - Crimetime Thursdsy
7:00: Flagship Realty
8:00: US procedural (NCIS, SVU, etc)
9:00: US procedural (NCIS, SVU, etc)

Friday
7:00: Living Room
8:00: Encores of Aus Drama

Just Fill the schedule with Movies (unless Ten can get some rights to some AFL or NRL games), there’s just not much you can do on Saturdays.

Nope only watched 1 episode. But I would expect it to be on at 8:30 on Eleven and replayed on Ten.

@dominator I quite like the schedule. I have never been a fan though of the on the clock starts. I don’t think it works.

I like the concept of Hunted.

Hey welcome, nice schedule. If they had the budget…

True, programming ALL of those shows would be a budget nightmare.

However there are a couple of this Ten could realistcily take from my mock, including starting shows on the hour and starting their Flagship reality shows at 7 (to catch those viewers to change channel between 9 & 7’s six o’clock news and their Flagship Reality shows at 7:30 and to allow for more room for programs to air later), having late news followed by some late night talk shows (to increase their late night shares where 7 & 9 don’t air anything of major interest) and having some themed nights in terms of programming (for branding).

I think it was a missed opportunity to give shows like Common Sense, Shark Tank and a new show (Sisters)…

Agree that it would have been good for Ten to have some more post 8:30 content ready (why aren’t they airing Shark Tank already?) to launch off the back of Masterchef, knowing that it’s usually their standout performer of the year. A Drama in the first part of the year before Offspring should have been ready as well as something after Gogglebox knowing it’s a fairly short season. All pretty Common Sense really

They still have about 9 weeks to launch a few things off the back of MC if they decide. But yeah, I agree, it seems they have missed the boat to an extent. Even some promos for a few of the shows mentioned would be a help, just on low rotation to gain a bit of hype.

Problem is, if they aired everything after MasterChef, they’d have even less for the rest of the year.

My proposal for Ten next year which includes a move of Masterchef

I quite like your idea of the schedule but it should be more like this

Sunday
7pm Little Big Shots (nice for a Sunday night once a week in the earlier 7pm slot when little kids can watch it before bed)
8pm Sunday Night (Little Big Shots doesn’t deserve to go for any longer than an hour or so in my eyes)
9pm Yummy Mummies (Move to later slot and replace with factuals if it flops which it inevitably will and should!!)

Monday
7:30pm Hell’s Kitchen
8:30-9pm First Dates Australia

Tuesday
7:30pm Hell’s Kitchen
8:30-9pm Behave Yourself!

Wednesday
7:30pm Hell’s Kitchen
8:30-9pm Criminal Minds

Thursday
8:00 Border Security (If there are no Home and Away triples to show)
8:30 Factuals/The Front Bar in Melbourne

Shit slot for this. We might think it will fail but seven have invested money in this so can’t just schedule it to fail. What a waste of money.

And if you screen hells kitchen 3 times a week it wil be finished in less than 3 weeks. It only has 10 episodes.

Sorry, didn’t realise there were only 10 episodes of Hell’s Kitchen. I thought it was going to be like Seven’s other reality shows like MKR and House Rules and have the ability to be shown multiple times a week to fill their Monday-Wednesday 7:30pm slot for at least a month or so. I didn’t think its run would be so short but I suppose because it is a new format that hasn’t been tested on Australian screens yet it needs to be in case it is an utter failure like Restaurant Revolution.

Another Ten Mock Schedule…

Sunday
6pm - The Project
6.30pm - Factuals (Bondi Vet/Bondi Rescue/Flying Doctors)
7pm - Sunday Night Live with Grant Denyer
8pm - Australian Drama
9pm - Ten Late News

Weeknights
6pm - The Project
7pm - Reality
8pm - Varies
9pm - Ten Late News

8pm Lineup
Monday - HYBPA/Shark Tank/HYBPA (3 14-week slots)
Tuesday - Spotlight
Wednesday - Roy & HG’s The Final Siren
Thursday - Gogglebox/Common Sense/What Would You Do?

Reality Lineup
February-March: I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
March-April: Comedy Showcase (Mon-Wed), Life Stories with KAK (Thursday)
May-July: Masterchef Australia
July-October: Australian Survivor (Mon-Tues), The Bachelor/ette (Wed-Thu)

Highlights
Sunday Night Live - Variety show hosted by Grant Denyer, features celebrity interviews and showcases some of Australia’s best talents (similar to Red Faces but without the competition element, mainly focused on children a-la Little Big Shots)
Spotlight - New current affairs show hosted by Hamish Macdonald or Matt White. More Four Corners-esque than 60 Minutes/Sunday Night, one focus each week.
Roy & HG’s The Final Siren - Roy & HG wrap-up the week in sport and preview the coming weekend of football
What Would You Do? - New current affair shows based of the ABC USA version. Hosted by Hamish Macdonald or Matt White (whoever isn’t selected for Spotlight) putting actors in scenarios and seeing how the public respond.
Life Stories with Kerri-Anne - Kerri-Anne sits down with some of the world’s biggest stars to tell their stories (based off LS with Piers Morgan).
