This thread seems to be going around in circles with the one mock.

Anyone feel like doing a mock so we can move on? lol

It’s basically gone around in circles ever since US dramas ceased to be relevant as a FTA audience driver (and FTA’s declining relevance too). People coming up with ‘new season’ schedules working new and returning US shows in was essentially the point of this thread.

I think TV could just become a visual version of the radio and not rely on pre-recorded content. Let’s take Nine for example, live programming in bold:

5.30am - 9:00am - Today
9:00am - 12:00pm - Nine Mornings
Noon - 1pm - Lunchtime News
1pm - 4pm - “reality” replays
4pm - 5pm - Afternoon News (with optouts for regional news)
6pm - 7pm - Evening News
7pm - 7:30pm - ACA or a talking head, like Karl Stefanovic Live and Annoying
7:30pm - reality shows or Live Sport
10pm - 11pm - Late News
11pm - midnight - some late night show, like Kyle Sandilands Up Late and Uncut…Sadly
midnight to 5:30am - repeats of Late News, reality, old shows brought on the cheap

I think that if they could find a way to do it cheaply, they could make the TV like a radio station with more live stuff. If you want “premium” drama and comedy, you’ll just have to get a subscription to one of the many, many, many, many subscription services.

On the point of a new morning show @yellow_sock that could be a gem of an idea. What I would do is initially make it on the cheap, Runtime 60 minutes consisting of 37 minutes content plus 7 minutes of advertorials and 16 minutes of ads.

I would initially pre-record it the weekday afternoon before and feature no news content. That way it opens the prospect of international sales down the track

I’ve been so annoyed with the amount of repeats at primetime on ABC TV that I want to play around with the idea of the news at 7 pm starting prime time and 10 pm ending it with no repeats from 8-10 pm. I’ve used next week’s schedule to test this scenario out.

I want the late news to be at 10 pm and to be simulcast on the ABC News channel to save costs and run a full 30-minute bulletin. Why do we have two late news programs going to air (News channel from Melbourne at 10 pm and ABC Late News from Perth at various times after 10 pm) because the schedule can’t sort itself out! Also, I think one of the reasons why ABC Late News doesn’t rate as well compared to other late news shows is that it is only 15 minutes at the moment and there is no set timeslot.

I’ve consulted with iView to see what newish programs haven’t aired on ABC TV and I can use to slot in to replace repeats in the schedule between 7-10 pm.

After doing this little test, I’ve noticed that the ABC are really missing an Australian drama at the moment and Arts content. Also, I would not mind if they filled in some of their slots with movies. I wouldn’t mind old movies, as at least they aren’t replays from the previous night!

Anyway, it is possible to do it, they just don’t have scheduling discipline anymore!

Its a good idea so far, I like that mock ABC TV schedule than it was currently. We never get this in New Zealand as their TV is more commercialised

I know many would see this as having little point toot, but I thought I would post a post-aggregation schedule for how I thought NRTV should have programmed the station in 1992

6:00am Ten Eyewitness News

6:30am Good Morning Australia

8:30am The Morning Show

10:00am Mulligan’s

10:30am (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri) Aerobics Oz Style; (Wed) Midweek

11:00am Sally Jessy Raphael

12:00pm Another World

1:00pm Bold And The Beautiful

1:30pm Donahue

2:30pm Oprah Winfrey Show

3:30pm General Hospital

4:00pm Candid Camera

4:30pm The Wonder Years

5:00pm Hinch (rpt)^

5:30pm Neighbours

6:00pm NRTV News

6:30pm Ten Eyewitness News

^ Hinch would be first broadcast on delay after Ten Eyewitness News Second Edition at around 11pm with the 11pm program being pushed back half an hour, noting at this point NRTV close-down was still at around midnight. I would of had another program airing at 12:30am so that the nightly schedule concluded around 1:30am with Fridays and Saturdays being closer to 2:30am. The Hinch repeat is to allow those unable to watch the first episode could catch it at 5pm the following weekday
