Millionaire Hot Seat

With casting calls open for contestants, that means the show is returning to 10 in 2027.

Ratings wise, its been okay. Monday and Tuesdays been good. Rest of the week, very hit and miss. I do wonder how it compares to 2025 (the 7pm slot).

How many episodes were commissioned for this year? Will they play them all out this year, or will they go towards next year? If they film new epsiodes soon, i wonder if thry film enough for the whole of 2027? Or play it safe, and film enough for half a year? And go from there…

Looks like 10 won’t show all 196 episodes before the end of this year.

This happened last year too I believe. I have kept an accurate record over at TheTVDB.

Tuned into last nights episode, I think it was a repeat…quite unlikable contestants. Not sure if they cast people in a way we hate-watch the program but from the dude swinging in his chair making up teachers names to having 4 or 5 older men left in the game made it a little unbearable. Hard to watch.

Yeah, that was fine the first one or two times, but it went on and on… I was glad when he was out of the chair.

According to scheduling that episode was new.

Why do they keep showing repeat episodes when they still have unscreened eps in the can?

I wonder if 10 will continue this show for 2027?

They apparently have opened up casting for a new season.

Production has officially moved to Nunawading studios

Hopefully was a cheaper studio to hire for the production company and 10 so they can continue to find savings across their shows to minimize axing in this day and age of cost cutting.

Glad that it is returning to our screens for 2027.

Glad that Nunawading Studios will be used again for local television. Even if all episodes are filmed in a small block late this year (or early next year)?

As there will still be episodes from this year to be rolled over onto next year, from memory.

Ew AI slop image.
Is DoND & Millionaire no longer sharing studios?
Hopefully that means more episodes for 2027 - 10 badly need more.

I looked up where the Nunawading Studios was.. I see it’s actually in Forest Hill, so that’s a bit misleading!

Particularly if you are a contestant coming in from interstate and will need rely to on public transport to get there, and it doesn’t look like it’s near a train station. And doesn’t look like the trams go out that far… Whereas Docklands was much easier to get to.

The route 75 tram travels along Burwood Highway with a stop on the intersection with Springvale Road. From there it is a 10 minute walk up Springvale Road and Hawthorn Road to the front gate of Nunawading Studios.

Bus 902 stops at the Hawthorn Road intersection which features a 7-Eleven service station. The bus route travels to Nunawading and Glen Waverley train stations.

There was always jokes in the early days of television, that ATV10 was positioned around a sheep paddock due to it being so far out of Melbourne.

Neither less great to see the studio complex continue production for channel 10. We may see more in the future.

Yes, would certainly be cheaper to put production studios in the outer suburbs where land/rent is cheaper and location isn’t an issue from a production viewpoint.

The only issue was ATV10 newsroom being so far away. At one point in the 80s they had a news bureau based in the Melbournes CBD.
