>
> SCA radio management have no idea what they’re doing. Every move they make for 2Day is bad, and every reason they give is delusional. Cameron and Fordham needs to go pronto. They don’t deserve to run any radio divisions.

Yes for a expensive show and the ratings it is getting, it cannot keep going as it is surely???
Cancel the show and pipe in the regional breakfast show from Hit 101.3, what other option do they have???

It would be easier to gut the place have their two local day dj’s and have breakfast and drive networked. 2day just cannot compete in the current Sydney market with the established shows on their competitors.

The 3rd lowest share in its history, the lowest two being the first two surveys it was on the air: S4/80: 2.0 and S1/81: 2.4

Not quite. Dan & Maz rated lower with 2.4% in S3/2015.

The main takeaways for me are

The ongoing train wreck that is 2day FM. They either need to do something radical with the format (Triple M Classic Rock or something else from their digital offerings), or just give up and pipe in the regional breakfast show.

4KQ equal No. 1 is just phenomenal. Great effort from a great team who get next to no attention or promotion. Surely they must realise that what they’re doing with 97.3 isn’t right?

Triple M Perth is a disaster.

4BH/2UE/Magic I think have gone as high as they can without live announcers.

Tom\_TV7 referred to lipstick on a pig in relation to the 2DayFM breakfast show.

I would like to suggest a rather daring new television advert for The Morning Crew. Something that would cut through and get them noticed.

It would have the 2DayFM logo and underneath it Hughesy would be putting lipstick on a pig whilst Erin had a replica of the Titanic and she would be rearranging the deckchairs. Ed would be next to them polishing a turd.

Yeah I don’t trust the DAB ratings one bit, in Sydney NTS rated a 9,000 overall with 5,000 in the 18-24 year olds. I can’t imagine a lot of them would be listening!

Looking at the demo breakdowns for Sydney, it’s worth noting that 2GB outrates both 2Day & 2MMM in the 25-39s, in which it scored 7.1%, coming in 5th behind KIIS, JJJ, Nova & Smooth.

In the 40-54s, Smooth fell from 10% & 3rd place in the last survey to just 5.1% & 8th place, with only 2Day rating lower on among the commercial FMers! 😳
On the flipside, Smooth does quite well in the 55-64s (12.7%, 4th) & 65+ (6.9%, 5th).

I wonder if the decline in Smooth’s ratings is a result of the modernising of their music.

Mix94.5 is sounding the best it’s sounded it a long time. I’m so grateful they ditched the hybrid Triple M-lite format they were running for years. The breakfast show is solid and the music is good. The production sounds slick too. Maybe the rest of the Hit Network should follow their lead.

Jamie Angel is the show they should have stuck with. Lower expectations, lower cost, lower scrutiny and more potential than the recent shows.

I believe 97.3 should be a clear number one in Brisbane if they tweaked their music and positioning a bit. When you have their AM music sister station equal number 1 it’s clear there’s plenty of scope for improvement. I think 97.3 has been a squandered opportunity for its entire history. It’s never been able to break away from the pack like Mix 102.3 or 94.5 in Perth.

Yeah they don’t ring true. Smooth DAB in Brisbane seems too low. They’re the only one I hear in shops around town.
