American actor Mike Connors has died aged 92. He was best known for playing Joe Mannix on detective drama Mannix for eight seasons from 1968 to 1975.
British actor Sir John Hurt has died aged 77 after a long battle with cancer. Hurt was perhaps best known for playing the severely deformed Joseph Merrick in the 1980 film The Elephant Man, but also had roles in Midnight Express, Alien, 1984 and the Harry Potter movie franchise. He also played War Doctor in Doctor Who and features in movie Jackie (in cinemas now) in which Natalie Portman portrays Jacqueline Kennedy.

I was thinking that we weren’t losing that many celebrities this year and then suddenly there’ve been five in five days.

Sir John was one of those actors which just made you joyful when you’d see him in any role. I really enjoyed him in Doctor Who more than anything else, it showed a different side to him I hadn’t seen before. Rip legend.
Richard Hatch, star of original Battlestar Galactica and the recent remake, has died aged 71. Hatch played Captain Apollo in the original series, which aired from 1978 to 1979, and portrayed Tom Zarek in the 2003 re-imagined series.
Warren Frost, who played Dr Will Hayward in Twin Peaks and its sequel, has died aged 91. His son Mark Frost was the show’s co-creator.

British actor and former basketballer Neil Fingleton has died at just 36 from lethal heart failure. Fingleton was Britain’s tallest man at 7’7" and played the giant Mag The Mighty on Game of Thrones.

Tommy Page, a pop singer who later became a record company executive, publisher of Billboard magazine and a vice president at Pandora, has died aged 46.
One of Australia’s finest sports journalists, Trevor Grant, died on Sunday aged 65. He worked for many of Melbourne’s newspapers over a 40-year career, including The Age, The Sporting Globe, The Herald and the Herald Sun. He was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2015.
Former actress Frances Hargreaves, best known for playing Marilyn McDonald in Number 96, has died aged 62. She also appeared in The Young Doctors.
