The article says that she is busy filming in Norway, so I reckon the new show will hit our screens in 2027.

New show? It sounds like it is for Everyday Gourmet, which I believe is commonly filmed overseas. I don’t really watch it but last year I was on an overseas flight and the person sitting next to me worked on the show. They told me they had recently been filming for it in New York.

This year they seem to have a lot more guests coming into the kitchen (outside of the usual Pressure Tests) and very clear themes each week. I know we commonly have themed weeks before but not necessarily every week having a clear theme like they’ve had this season.

Yeah it’s for Everyday Gourmet

That would be for New York Gourmet which premiered on SBS Food earlier this year.

Matt’s mystery box is home and Daniel’s mystery box is restaurant.

The judges would choose a top dish from each mystery box.

Season 3: 15 weeks, 84 episodes
Season 4: 12 weeks, 70 episodes
Season 5: 14 weeks, 65 episodes
Season 6: 13 weeks, 60 episodes
Season 7: 13 weeks, 62 episodes
Season 8: 13 weeks, 63 episodes
Season 9: 13 weeks, 63 episodes
Season 10: 13 weeks, 61 episodes
Season 11: 13 weeks, 61 episodes
Season 12: 15 weeks, 60 episodes
Season 13: 13 weeks, 61 episodes
Season 14: 13 weeks, 62 episodes
Season 15: 11 weeks, 50 episodes
Season 16: 13 weeks, 50 episodes
Season 17: 16 weeks, 60 episodes

We are now in week 7 of season 18, with 27 episodes to have been shown by this Wednesday. Nine contestants had been eliminated. If The Traitors is scheduled to start in August, that means this season of MasterChef could go all the way to the end of July, making it 15 weeks in total.

Yeah I just posted about that in the Traitors topic, that it seems like they have gone back to 60-episode seasons of MasterChef. So 4 days a week means run time is 15 weeks! Until a few seasons ago the show used to run for 5 days a week, so they used get through 60 episodes a bit faster.

In tonight’s challenge, contestants were formed in pairs to cook four serves of chocolate and peanut dessert in 75 minutes. The bottom two teams (plus Vinnie, who didn’t cook in last night’s elimination challenge) would be cooking in Wednesday’s elimination.

Pies and Ice Cream promo

I was really sad to see Lydia go this week! I hope this is a season where they bring back an eliminated contestant.

Robert Irwin is on the cover of The Watchlist TV liftout inside News Corp papers today. He did the interview with Siobhan Duck from the MC kitchen in Melbourne where he was a guest judge for the elimination challenge filmed earlier this year. That episode will be shown this Wednesday.

From The MasterChef Kitchen To The Coles Freezer Aisle.

Hannah’s Cheeseburger Pie And Pat’s Salted Caramel & Bickie Crumble Ice Cream Available In Selected Coles Stores.

MasterChef Australia and Coles have once again raised the bar, this time offering fans the chance to take home two winning dishes made in the MasterChef kitchen.

During Aussie Classics week, celebrity chef and MasterChef Australia fan favourite Curtis Stone presented contestants with a Mystery Box challenge to create their own epic version of either a pie or ice cream.

Hannah Johnson’s Cheeseburger Pie served with potato chips and Pat McGarry’s Salted Caramel & Bickie Crumble Ice Cream plated up with apple pie, didn’t just win them immunity from elimination, they won them a place in selected Coles stores across Australia.[1]

Hannah Johnson said: “It feels pretty amazing to have won this challenge and to have a product that I created on the shelves of Coles. I’m excited to actually see it in there, I think that’s when it’ll really hit me. I hope my kids like it just as much as the judges did!”

Pat McGarry said: “It feels completely surreal for my ice cream to be on the shelves at Coles. To think that my family, friends and even strangers will be seeing my face on the tubs of ice cream, boggles my mind! I cannot wait to take my little Frankie in store for her to see.”

Tamar Hovagimian, Director of National Advertising Partnerships, Paramount Australia, said: “The partnership between Coles and MasterChef Australia continues to set the benchmark for sponsorships in the market.

“After 18 seasons, we wanted to up the ante and offer consumers a complete meal experience direct from the MasterChef kitchen – Hannah’s Pie and Pat’s Ice Cream. We’re so excited for Australia to be able to share these flavours with their family and friends at home thanks to Coles.”

Carmel Horvath, Head of Sponsorships and Events, Coles, said: “Last season’s limited-edition MasterChef ice-cream sold out in just three days, so we’re excited to bring not one, but two winning creations from the MasterChef kitchen to our freezer aisle.

“Hannah’s Cheeseburger Pie and Pat’s Salted Caramel & Bickie Crumble Ice Cream are packed with flavour and fun, and we can’t wait for customers to try them for themselves.

“It’s a great way for Australians to recreate a little bit of the MasterChef experience at home.”

Marty Benson, Director of Content, Endemol Shine Australia said: “We’re very proud to have partnered with Coles again on this now iconic challenge, bringing a taste of MasterChef to life on tables around the country. Now in its fourth year, seeing two contestants have the honour and thrill of having their products on shelves at Coles doubles the joy, and we just love that Aussie families can have dinner and dessert sorted in an instant thanks to the Hannah and Pat, direct from the MasterChef kitchen.”
