Married at First Sight

Married at First Sight ‘scandals’ pale in comparison to the Big Brother scandals. Whilst reality shows will always have an element of fake in them I’d argue that most of BB’s scandals were at least genuine instead of contrived and made up.

Not to mention at all the publicity the show is getting online and probably all the women’s magazines, etc. Heck, even Gogglebox (and as a result, Lifestyle + Ten/WIN) has been giving Married At First Sight plenty of publicity!

One really wonders whether Kerry Packer would’ve ever allowed a program like MAFS (which if some of the program’s recent content is anything to go by, surely must almost make Doug Mulray’s Naughtiest Home Videos seem like high brow viewing in comparison?) to even go to air…

Yep. A lot of MAFS seems staged. That discussion the ‘experts’ had tonight about whether they should let Jess and Dan stay looked and sounded like they were reading off a script. That is what led to the downfall of BB when it was on Nine too. Everything seemed so fake and contrived.

I’m quite sure he wouldn’t have a show like this on Nine. Kerry famously was an avid TV fan and watched every show that they produced on Nine. He wouldn’t have commissioned a show like MAFS.

Exclusive live cross to Kerry Packer’s grave, where he’s reported doing 100,000 revolution per minute

Which surprises me how these MAFS “scandals” can provoke such a strong emotional reaction. It’s not like these marriages are real.

What a load of bullsh!t. These experts standing there saying it’s the right thing to let Jess and Dan stay is beyond a joke. If Jess and Dan are that desperate to explore their relationship before returning home then go bloody book a hotel in Sydney for the next 2 weeks and see how you go. This may give the show a boost in ratings in the short run (and I’m predicting last nights to be one of the highest ever) but in the longer term it’s going to hurt it. Next season in particular it completely opens the show up to everyone couple swapping and the show will just became cheaters or wife swap.

Yeah I’m actually done for now. I got hooked on the show the last 3-4 weeks after having never watched it previously, but I have lost complete interest now. I’ll just come back for the reunion eps.

I’m assuming it’s the last week of the experiment and next week will have 2-3 “reunion” type episodes.

Exactly. Who would pay these people for relationship advice if that’s what they are encouraging?

Proof that this season of Married AFS will be end at some point

Still shorter than MKR

This suggests the current season will finish on April 7 or 8.

A lot of negative feedback from last nights episode floating around with a lot claiming they will turn off.

Will be interesting to see any trend changes in the numbers tomorrow

Is this porn on free to air TV?

NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS: Candid footage of MAFS cheaters’ X-rated romp

It’s nothing we haven’t seen before on other shows like Big Brother in the past.

I hope it does impact it to send a message to the show. Although it’s the pointy end of the season now so I think people are too far invested to just stop. I made a conscious effort not to sit down and watch the whole thing last night but ended up flicking it on just for the last 15 mins or so.

It seemed a bit raunchy. Of the bit I caught at the end of episode it was all about Ning wanting sex and Mark not giving it to her. She was rubbing against him in the bath and then laying in the bed wanting him to make a move. Then it cut to a confessional where he said having sex will complicate things and then in the bed he just turned the lights out and the episode ended.

That article you posted actually has some hilarious commentary on what I saw:

"We check in on Mark and Ning and producers have taken them into the woods to have sex in a tree.

Mark and Ning are being weird. At first she hated him and all he wanted to do was have sex. Now, Ning is finally up for it, and Mark doesn’t want to have sex.

So here they are in a treehouse in the Blue Mountains and everyone’s naked."

Basic’s defence lawyer Ivan Sayad asked for a conviction not to be recorded so his client could travel to the US where she had media opportunities lined up.

Magistrate Deborah Vasta said Basic had acted like a brat and her behaviour had been disgusting.

There was a petition that was being made to tell the NIne Network to remove this show off air due to the Jess and Dan affair

LOL after so much attention on the show, the same people who helped the show get good ratings now want it down the drain :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
