DC is smart enough to know and already has shown, you need to programme market by market. This one rule fits all doesn’t work.

Perhaps the astrology writers / ai that now writes astrology needs to focus on the Australian media ~realm~ more closely 
KIIS have scrubbed K&J from virtually everywhere.
No mention of the show or the so-called ‘Hour of Power’ on any KIIS website, including KIIS Perth.
Fastest removal I’ve seen on updating their sites… in ever.

In Melbourne I think we are actually spoiled for choice in terms of breakfast radio that is good: The Breakfast Spread on PBS for music nerds, Get Cereal on SYN is an underrated show with young people valiantly covering pop culture, news, sport and local stories, Bob & Sharnelle are on ABC 774 doing a great job with a very community-driven show teaming up an experienced journalist with an ex-footy player, Mick in the Morning on MMM is good too and id listen more if it wasnt so ad heavy, hosted by extremely Melbourne people Mick Molloy, Titus OReilly etc. The common thread is LOCAL, every single one of those shows is deeply enmeshed in local culture, KJO just could not offer that & specifically said they would not. And actually, networked in from sydney on Triple J nationally there’s Conchetta & Luca who i find really fun to listen to, they dont know Melbourne stuff but that is made up by the fact its a good faith attempt to engage the whole country with an emphasis on regional listeners. They don’t start the show telling Melbourne to go fuck itself

If I were DC, I’d be contacting Chrissie Swan and seeing when her contract is up and putting her in Melbourne breakfast ASAP with Jack Charles or national drive and bump Will & Woody. Her show dominates her timeslot and she is very Melbourne.

I think this planned before the whole debacle
It’s quite surreal seeing the KIIS website with no mention of them. They had to hard-sell KJO to justify the expense so much that it was just ridiculous. Now it just looks like any station that plays the Top 40

Drop the Brisbane/Adelaide log into Melbourne, at least in the short term. Gives the station something to differentiate itself from Fox and Nova.
