KIIS Network

Here’s another curveball. KIIS97.3 going back to local workdays with Georgina Marckwald announcing she’s returning to local workdays from Jan. 19.

What’s the bet we’ll see a music format shift on this day as well.

I wonder where this money is now coming from at ARN?

So how come Kyle hasn’t spat his dummy out yet over KIIS seeming to veer from networking them?

Isn’t he one of the faces of that Say No to Hate campaign? Might need to dial down the shite he sprays on air, including towards his own employer.

Somehow

That leaves Gordie will be on air on Sydney.. Melbourne and Perth if that happens. Not sure with Adelaide.

That’s excellent news. And I think they will tweak the music accordingly and probably align with Adelaide. Finally some logical thinking from ARN.

DC has probably told ARN the story of Hit and how one size didn’t fit all metro markets.

What a lengthy handle

I think KIIS Brisbane and Adelaide will follow the finish time at 10am for their Breakfast shows.

I wonder how much he’s on to tell some advice about 3000 people on here said.

There really can’t be secret insider info that proves 3 out of 4 commerical FM stations should be CHR and we’re all idiots for thinking otherwise.

Problem is, they all have success in Sydney and then get their dicks hard for the concept of CHR network but fail to see that different markets require different solutions and it’s not as sexy as they want it to be.

Never truer words spoken

The music in Sydney also isn’t the reason for KIIS’ success. There is no reason not be to Hot AC everywhere.

True. KIIS could’ve been called Mix and still dominate - so long as K&J went there.

I do think they needed a rebrand - the Mix brand had gone through every combination of music possible from soft AC to hot AC.

I did like Mix Melbourne’s ‘2K to Today’ format they ran shortly before the KIIS flip - recurrents and “gold” tracks every second song and lots of upbeat new music. Don’t know if any music logs survived the MediaSpy change to Discourse but I’ll see what archives I can pull up.

Last Friday was Michelle Murphy’s last day at Mix 102.3.

Who’s replacing her?

I believe the initial idea was to voice track the day from interstate.

Sure is. But now Adelaide runs a different playlist, a lot of links will have to be specific to that.

Not sure what to expect.

I wonder if Georgina Marckwald is voicetracking Brisbane and Adelaide workdays.
Just have her go live into each market, there’s only a 30 minute time difference
