To be fair, TV Blackbox got the news half right. Correct about KIIS, incorrect about the time slot.
With ARN’s 2026 Upfronts next week, some of the invited media would’ve been given the heads up about the Smallzy announcement.

Maybe ARN have lured Smallzy by promising him a truly national night show, including ARN Regionals. Something Nova cannot do.
Not to mention all the iHeart/USA access.

Do you reckon TV Blackbox relied on comments by Media Spy members speculating about the move to confirm the news? We certainly don’t get enough credit for getting things right, though stranger things have happened I suppose.

It doesn’t say anything about afternoons, perhaps he’s doing 12-3 or dumping The Pick Up
iHeartRadio to reveal refreshed app at next week’s ARN Upfront (well, the app version that is currently used in USA/Canada). I believe the NZ rollout will happen at the same time and was delayed to coincide with ARN’s “lavish” launch event.
The progress Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson made in Melbourne has stalled, with the radio duo losing more listeners in the city, at a time the media regulator prepares sanctions on KIIS Network’s owner for failing to rein in their stars.

Nova 100: 8.4 (-1.6)
Fox: 9.5 (+0.5)
KIIS: 6.0 (-0.1)
For cume:
Nova 100: 648,000 (-74,000)
Fox: 647,000 (+35,000)
KIIS: 427,000 (-16,000)

According to Inside Mail, radio insiders say that Smallzy will join KIIS and most likely end up on national Drive.
This would be a cost saving measure by the company given Will and Woody are reportedly on $500,000 each, whilst Smallzy individually would only fetch between $200k and $300k.

Can confirm Inside Mail’s got this one wrong. Will and Woody aren’t going anywhere, nor is Smallzy taking their timeslot.
Working in agency sales, I can tell you Will and Woody bring in an impressive amount of revenue.

Will and Woody are contracted until the end of 2026.
I am very sure that they will leave their Pick Up show on KIIS by the end of the year.
That’s it, sadly it looks like they’re also gonzo from the 3pm timeslot after this year.
Have to 100% agree with you there. That’s something I’d very much expect to happen soon enough given this latest news. Should they decide to give Britt and Laura the sack, ARN could do one of these following things…
- Launch a new afternoon show hosted by Smallzy
- Air Kyle & Jackie O’s Hour Of Power during school pickup
- Have KIIS mixes on in that slot instead
Choose wisely folks. Your decision could influence what ARN decides to do with the 3pm timeslot should they ever decide that Britt and Laura’s on-air time is up.
