Not what I’m hearing…

I can hardly wait for the orchestrated smut to arrive…not!

Is this simply a case of K&J signing a deal late in the year, then disappearing on holiday over summer and they simply have not done the technical work or rehearsal to sort out how they are going to window content into Melbourne?

Soooo true.

What’s the bet K&J will turn networked programs on its head. He won’t hide the fact they’re coming out of Sydney.

I wonder if they’ll “do a Hadley” and occasionally broadcast from Melbourne to better connect with the locals?

Or better still, maybe they’re delaying the Melbourne arrival so they can “massively announce it” to their Sydney listeners (many of which still wouldn’t have a clue of this happening).

could it be that there new studios aren’t finished yet?

Then why would they be back already then?

Definitely. I don’t know how much they’ll play into the fact that they’re from Sydney, but Kyle will have no interest in pretending they’re Melbourne locals. And that wouldn’t work anyway. Everyone knows he’s from Sydney and their main selling point is that the country’s biggest show is now in Melbourne (albeit that is also one of its biggest detractors).

I don’t think they’ll be in Melbourne very often - only when their work actually brings them to Melbourne, not to create some sort of local illusion.

Nope, they’re back on in Sydney next week. The new studios in North Sydney won’t be ready for a while still.

Here’s a conspiracy theory that I openly admit is 99 percent change of being wrong. But just what if this has all been one big publicity stunt?

We know Kyle and Jackie aren’t strangers to that and while KIIS in Sydney doesn’t need any help, it’s got people in Melbourne talking about the station too.

That’s not to say they won’t go on air there, they probably will for a period of time - but I just find the whole thing a little strange at the moment. As I said, probably am totally wrong.

Few more news articles around now about the delay.

Apparently show may not launch until second quarter (so March to June) and Byron Cooke looking after the slow until then. This was (apparently) always part of the plan.

Coincides with the North Sydney move.

if that was the plan why wouldn’t they have kept jase and lauren on until then?

Contract negotiations maybe

Its smart - gives the station brearhing space between the old show and the new to let the complaints etc die down.

You’re also assuming Jase and Lauren would want to keep the seat warm for Kyle and Jackie O, knowing they would be leaving soon.
It’s possible their contracts were up at the end of the calendar year2023 too.

Maybe ARN Sydney will also switch to Zetta at their new studios which would make much more sense to have both Syd and Melb on Zetta for show networking purposes.

In other words, it’ll take Kyle a few months to learn how to use Zetta properly. It would take a normal person a few days, maybe a week, but with all the sick days… :joy:

The plan is definitely to have the new studios on Zetta. It shouldn’t make too much difference for networking though. Nexgen and Zetta are compatible for networking and is currently working fine for Will and Woody coming out of Melbourne into Sydney live.
