Here is the story - 3 years in a row Kayo have increased their subs just before the footy season. This year by 14%.
Yeah I don’t think children are the source of the pub problem but that’s not for this thread.
I am glad I left my hubble subscription laps.
They’re not the source - they’re the victims. Trust me - I hear horror stories.
Advising alcoholics to go to a pub because you can’t be fucked to pay for Kayo is not a good idea. Nine should know better.
As should the leagues, and one team in particular whose management should be told to fuck off, because they’re the ones causing the price increases.
One of these days, people will tell Kayo/DAZN, the NRL, AFL, etc., quite frankly, fuck off. And rightfully so. There will come a time that people will stop paying to go to games, buying the shirts, getting the subs, etc., because it will become expensive. These people should be put back in their place.
I think it was suppose to light hearted. Just over thinking it dude.
Well, it is what it is now. Too bad, so sad.
To topic though, my point stands. Piss poor waste of air time. Like the Giants and Nine’s broadcast license.
Would not be caught dead paying the Giants or any other AFL/NRL club for cheap Kayo. I have more principals than a principals conference.
I do wonder why Kayo has never gone down the path of offering discounted annual subscriptions (at a comparable price to the Kayo club memberships).
It would help them retain ‘seasonal’ subscribers who may otherwise ditch Kayo altogether during the summer months, and probably would be just as profitable for them as the club membership scheme, if not moreso.
Also would have the benefit for Swans supporters of being able to get a better deal on Kayo without committing high treason in the process.
We won’t get it whilst Seven is a partner. Thanks Seven…
I agree I would never become a Foxtel subscriber again or even join a membership of my footy club because the cost of living prevents me from doing so. I may not be able to watch every footy geelong game for free (afl is real footy ) but at least I’m not wasting my
Money on as club membership to get kayo.
The new commercial debuted last night. From now on, all Kayo ads (TV, display and print) will include this caveat:
Not available for use in Very Remote regions of Australia.
Sure, there’s plenty of places you can find this year’s Superbowl TVCs, but nice of KAYO to have a little one-stop-shop of the Peyton & Eli show.
Kayo will stream at least six AFL pre-season match simulations from February 17 to 22.
All match sims except North Melbourne v Melbourne are listed on Fox Footy on the Foxtel guide, which clashes with the Carlton vs St Kilda match (which is listed).
All seem to be scheduled with local time as AEDT, but I assume that’ll be fixed at some point, unless West Coast vs Richmond is going to start at 6:30am in Perth.
The Wests Tigers Kayo membership is for Kayo One (which is one screen only) while the others are the Kayo standard (2-3 screens).
Any thoughts on if Kayo will find a ESPN replacement?
As discussed at length in the ESPN thread, it is currently staying on Foxtel and Kayo.
Even if ESPN does go what would they get? My guess is probably nothing?
One is the number of wins they’ll get all year. Makes sense.
A price increase for Kayo, because why not? Lose more sports. give the suckers who are staying an increase.
BeIN Sports?
Nah. Foxtel got rid of them. I doubt beIN would want to return, even under DAZN ownership.
The Foxtel/Kayo contract with ESPN ends June 30.
