That’s interesting. In Australia it was also 6.30pm Saturday so I’m wondering if it was Live into NZ (4.30pm Melbourne time) ? A special packaged edition just for NZ? A repeat of the previous weeks episode that aired in Australia or was Hey Hey all Pre-recorded in those days? Promo seems to suggest it’s a repeat of the episode which went to air in Australia a week prior? ---

@rock12 On Australia’s east coast (i.e. Sydney and Melbourne), the show was televised live from the GTV9 studios in Melbourne. But in New Zealand, it was pre-recorded and produced as a specially packaged version for New Zealand audiences via TVNZ, i.e. just one week after its original Australian broadcast (as seen on Channel Nine) … I think. ---

I was in Melbourne on holidays back in the late 80’s and tried (unsuccessfully) to get into the audience. That particular week they recorded on a Wednesday, the people I was staying with were regulars in the audience and made a point of telling me the recording day & time varied. ---

I was in the studio audience on what happened to be Grand Final Day and Daryl was performing at the pre-game entertainment. He then rushed to GTV9 for the taping and made references to the grand final in the show but at the time we didn’t know who won although the result would obviously be known by the time it aired I was also in the studio audience on another Saturday, the day after he’d won the Gold Logie ---

It was at that point you realised too that the camera never panned right of the set… which now made sense ---

My memory of Ossie appearing on the Graham Kennedy show was that he appeared from beneath the desk, which was obviously different to Hey Hey. ---

During the STW-9 Appealathon years (1987 to 1991) it would have been taped during the week so the cast could head to Perth. STW-9 and GWN only started taking Hey Hey after Aussat launched in 1986. ---

Did they ever take _Hey Hey_ to Perth? They often did shows out of Sydney and special shows from Brisbane, Gold Coast and Adelaide, but did they do any shows from WA? ---
