Dream on, white boy
Dream on, black girl
And wake up to a brand new day
To find your dreams have washed away

Another song I’ve always likeddddd.

Songs heard on Rebel FM today:

“Know Your Enemy” by Green Day
“Laughing In The Sugar Bowl” by Veruca Salt
“Baby Come On” by +44
“Free For All” by Ted Nugent
“Streets Of Love” by The Rolling Stones
“How To Shake Hands” by Clutch
“Edie (Ciao Baby)” by The Cult
“Runaway Boys” by Stray Cats
“You’re All I Have” by Snow Patrol
“Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast” by Airbourne
“What’s Next To The Moon” by AC/DC
“Used To Love Her” by Guns N’ Roses
“I Only Lie When I Love You” by Royal Blood
“For You” by All That Remains
“Sucker For Pain” by The Crookeds
“What Is And What Never Should Be” by Led Zeppelin

While those bangers aired, there was also some tad disappointments such as “Skater Boi” by Avril Lavigne, I’m not going to say it’s not a rock song as it is a pop-rock song with pop-punk elements, it’s just the rest of her catalogue later on isn’t as influenced by rock as a whole, feels off hearing this on both Rebel FM and the Hit Network stations. I also heard “Photograph” by Nickelback, don’t get me wrong, the first five Nickelback albums are great, well specifically the deeper cuts, I’m not as into the hits especially when they’re played by every radio station ever. But hey, it’s not a big deal and I hope I’m not making sound like it is hahah.

I don’t mind the earlier stuff from Nickelback, but that song would have to be one of the worst songs ever.

I agree with you, first four to five albums is just solid hard rocking post-grunge, but as they went more country, they became more repetitive, not a single song since Photograph have I liked from them.

“Please Stay” by Kylie Minogue on Woolworths Instore Radio.

One of her forgotten but good songs

She has a lot of great songs that rarely get played… “Some Kind Of Bliss”, “, Did It Again” even “Slow”… and her duet with Nick Cave “Where The Wild Roses Grow”, which is the only time I’ve heard Triple M Sydney play her.

Agreed, I’d put this on the “Oh No” thread alongside “How You Remind Me” in my honest opinion.

During my shopping at my local Coles in Kurri Kurri today, I heard “Thank God It’s Christmas” by Queen one of the best single only releases from one of my favourite bands and a banger of a Christmas song released in 1984!

Thats True, that whole Early 2000’s Kylie is a much more laid back style for her and I prefer it.

My parents love Nickelback and say that they’re heavy as fuck which is concerning because they’re not metal, one thing that bugs me is that they say they are genuinely talented and write better songs than King Crimson, Rush, and Opeth, they think that any music they don’t know is shit and every band I just mentioned they think is shit and weird (I personally love those bands). I mean no disrespect, they’re my parents and I love them, and music taste is subjective and in one way or another everyone’s different, but to call them metal and more talented then Rush? I’m not sure about that.

I’m not too into her 80s’ stuff. But from her self-titled album in 1994 onwards, I got obsessed with her music, every album from that up to and ‘Body Language’ (2003) is to me amazing Australian pop music, she is more versatile then people like to admit, I’ll always be proud to be a fan of her music, even if I think that her 80s’ and early 90s’ albums are mehhhh.

Chad Kroeger does have a great voice though. His stuff with Santana eg “Why Don’t You And I?” and “Into The Night” is better than with Nickelback.

Also don’t forget he collaborated with Josey Scott for “Hero” from the Spiderman soundtrack in 2002 (I think it was?).
