“Where’s the cheese? G’day!”
I thought that line was “Where did you put the keys “
It is, I believe.
Loved that song when it came out in 1994. I was 8 years old and couldn’t figure out why she was singing about breakfast cereal.
I was always a Weetbix kid. Good thing she wasn’t singing that jingle.
Today
Chocolate Cake - Crowded House
(on 4K1G Townsville)
This Is Your Night - Amber
(on Star106.3 Townsville)
A guilty pleasure of mine
Closer - Nine Inch Nails
Hanging By A Moment - Lifehouse
(both on Power100 Townsville)
I only really included Lifehouse because i also heard this song on the then 100.7 Sea FM when I last did this trip in 2001. And I was also near Bowen when I heard it then too! Talk about de javu!
“Hanging by a Moment” is one of my favourite songs from 2001. I was happy to see it chart well in Australia where it topped the singles chart.
I have my own deja vu story with one particular song. When I was a kid in the early to mid 1990s, my family used to go via the New England Highway whenever we went to visit relatives in Queensland. Every time we went through Armidale, 2AD would play Your Wildest Dream by The Moody Blues. This was the early to mid 1990s. Fast forward to March 2022, and I had to do a taxi job from Coffs Harbour to Armidale on what became a 16 hour day. Tuned into 2AD whilst there and the local afternoon show is playing, yup, you guessed it. Your Wildest Dream by The Moody Blues
Lol! You never would have picked that… In your wildest dreams… I like that song too.
Coffs Harbour to Armidale… That must have been some fare… Hope it was $1,134.
Closer to 720. lol
Lol!
That’s a 2AN fare!
This one belongs in the “Oh No,Not that Song Again “thread for me.Apologies to anyone who likes this song but I don’t and never have
Same
Some great songs on Triple M Melbourne this morning as part of the ‘Theme Train’ (which was party/celebration)
Ship of Fools - World Party
Happy Birthday Helen - Things of Stone and Wood (insert D-Gen Melbourne cliches version here)
Monday’s Experts - Weddings Parties Anything
You’re So Vain - Chocolate Starfish
Happy Birthday Helen - Things of Stone and Wood (insert D-Gen Melbourne cliches version here)
But at least it rhymes with Moorabbin.
I was 8 years old and couldn’t figure out why she was singing about breakfast cereal.
Even more so when she apparently was hanging with the raisin girl, conjuring images of Sultana Bran
I went to Woolworths and they played Thr Simple Things (Quite Emotional) by Vanessa Amorosi. I first heard that song during the Perth Telethon promos on Channel 7.
Tonight on Nights With Dave Gleeson
Beats So Lonely - Charlie Sexton
(part of what appears to be a new segment called “The Forgotten Files” which was sadly just one song)
Original Prankster- The Offspring
Tribute - Tenacious D
(the Donald Trump joke got a mention here)
And on the Classic 9 At 9 (theme Big / Small songs)
Big Log - Robert Plant
Big Time - Peter Gabriel
Big Jet Plane - Angus & Julia Stone
Original Prankster- The Offspring
They used to play this one uncensored, so I loved turning up the radio when ‘you know it smells like shite’ came on!
Oi heard ‘What It’s Like’ by Everlast on Nige Canberra…that was censored to oblivion. They used to play it as is on 96.1 bitd
I think the s word was censored last night, sadly.
I can understand the f bomb and c bomb being edited out, but surely the s word isn’t really that bad.
