Great songs heard on radio

  • ‘The Globe’ - B.A.D

  • ‘Industrial Disease’ - Dire Straits

Both played on REBEL90.5.

Surprisingly haven’t heard The Globe on radio in a bit, the only Big Audio Dynamite song radio seem to play is ‘Rush’. Great Dire Straits song in there aswell.

That’s what I ended up with after nearly 40 years of working in manufacturing

This Is Who I Am - Vanessa Amorosi

Heard this morning on 5TCB Bordertown SA.

I love that song - has a very 80s feel to it even though it was released in 2009.

Tonight on Triple M Nights with Dave Gleeson:

  • 8:20pm: “Pride (In the Name of Love)” by U2. Have noticed that this song has been played quite frequently on radio this year. Before that - “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes
  • 9:23pm: “Take Me Out” by Franz Ferdinand

Soldier Of Fortune - John Paul Young

Now playing on 96.5 3HHH community radio here in Horsham. They were doing a profile on JPY. It was a Community radio network program, so not just a 3HHH show.

8:50pm: “Missing” by Everything But the Girl

KIIS 97.3

9:38pm: “Love Song” by Sara Bareilles

Though I don’t think Gleeson is actually on tonight - all I’ve heard in the last 20-30 mins are songs ???

There have been some interesting songs played - A-ha’s “Take On Me” and the Train one above are not songs you’d normally hear on Triple M (metros at least).

But I did enjoy hearing this one

What’s Up? - The 4 Non Blondes

I actually switch between stations on Lava most nights in order to discover new music and classics, instead of sticking to just one.

Reckon Gleeso could be taking the night off in light of Paul Wossen’s passing, but I could be wrong as Gleeso was on last night.

I think the shows are recorded 1-2 weeks in advance. But perhaps they don’t want to make it sound they are not acknowledging his passing.

I had no idea these shows weren’t live. I know Smallzy’s Surgery is live, though he has this week off before returning next Monday.

Little did they realize that years later it would be made into a He-Man meme.

Survey break? Mind you that wouldn’t explain Monday.

I like that one too👍

Sand in My Shoes Dido - Breeze (of course).

Yeah I heard that one this morning too. Can’t say I’m a huge Dido fan, but it’s great to hear something other than Thank You.

I did enjoy hearing these two on Breeze around the same time;

Sartorial Eloquence / Elton John (possibly my all-time favourite key change in a song)
Stand Back / Stevie Nicks

Hearing this one on “Forever Classic” GNFM as part of their ‘80s Lunch’ today made me smile

Touch Me - Samantha Fox

A guilty pleasure of mine (I mean the song, not the touching bit :expressionless: ).
